This was actually a poem I had to write for class. It was about my aunt Alma Mendez. Her husband killed her and this is how I thought he felt. The poems is a short rhyming poem. I will always remember you Alma.

I Didn't Want You To Die

Published on April 2008

She died on the night,
of their very last fight.
A cut to the throat,
a stab in the chest.
He knew what he did was not the best.
It was like a horror movie-
a lot of blood and gore.
A movie he wanted to watch no more.
He said he was sorry-
he had a bad pain in his heart, a bad sore
of the love she always gave him
that he had no more.
The cops came and took him away
and know all he thought was about the things he didn't mean to say.
that night he lost his wife.
But the worst thing he lost was his life.
Every day he sat there lonely in his cell
Only knowing one day he would go to hell.
