Chasing a dream

I didn't understand

          My day started off like any other, happy to be awake, happy to have you right by my side, hopped off the bed and quickly headed for the food, chopping the food away I heard you get up, quickly ran to you just to get a hug, atleast something, your presence made everything just great but today was different. You didn't want to see me, you pushed me away, you seemed down, you seemed tired and exhausted, you got up and I nearly saw you faint, I didn't understand what was happening, I couldn't even help and that's what tore me the most. You walked a few steps and could barely keep your balance, I'm lost? What's happening? You told me to move as you quickly rushed into the bathroom, couldn't even bother to close the bathroom door which was odd, yes we were alone in the house but you always closed the door so why not today?
           I saw something red on the floor, what is it? I knew the smell, it seemed familiar, yet I couldn't name it. You didn't look the same, it was hurting me, I've never seen you this way, I felt the need to be close to you but I was afraid. Fear overcame my body, it was the first time you ever pushed me away, I didn't know how to react or what to do, and here I thought I was your bestfriend. I started to move closer towards you yet you rejected me once again, there I knew you didn't want me, it's okay I'll just come back later. I went straight for the bed, smelled your scent all the way from here, I laid where you usually do, made me feel somewhat better yet worse at the same time, I didn't know what was happening but you seemed different, you just weren't as happy today, and you seemed out of place. A few minutes passed, seemed more like hours to me, I hopped off the bed once again and quickly rushed to you to see if you were okay, you finally wanted my company, although I noticed you seemed worse, but you finally wanted me to be there for you, you finally hugged me and it felt like the best thing ever, something I craved, something I felt like I didn't get in forever, I love you and I'll miss you so very much, those were the words that came out of her mouth, why would she miss me she'll always have me?
         I stood there for a while, you seemed kind of sleepy so you rested your head on the bathtub, I would bring you something if I could, really wishing I was different right now. I was getting hungry so I quickly went to get a bite, when I came back i saw you there laying down on the floor, the red liquid was everywhere now, on your hands, on your shirt, on your pants, it seemed like it was coming out of your mouth, I walked over to you, you didn't move? Why? You didn't have no reaction, WHY WEREN'T YOU MOVING?! GET UP? Made so much noise as possible yet no response, all I wanted to do was stay by your side, I felt huge pain, I didn't understand why? After all I was just a dog, what more could I have done?
