Thorin watched as Bilbo fell asleep. He wondered all the while if he had gone too far. He hadn't really talked to the hobbit before now. He looked at Bilbo peacefully enveloped in his fur. Thorin wanted to protect this hobbit. Keep him warm as of now. Bilbo started to move. He was moving slightly in his sleep. He was, in fact moving into Thorin, which Thorin found both comforting and a little funny. A little while later he started to feel drowsy and fell asleep.

The next morning Bilbo woke, not fully, for his eyes were still closed, but just enough to hear the sounds about him. But he felt something oddly warm pressed up against him. In curiosity to see what it was he opened his eyes. Blue, that's what he saw. A blue shirt as a matter of fact. He looked behind him. Arms. He was being held closely by someone in a blue shirt. He looked up and remembered the night before. He flushed a deep red and wriggled out of Thorin's arms, though right after he got free he felt cold and immediately wished for the comfort Thorin brought him. Before Thorin woke he slipped back into his arms. A content sigh came from Bilbo as he rested against the to -be King Under The Mountain. He draped Thorin's fur coat around himself. He felt Thorin shift next to him. The hobbit snuggled deeper into the coat, not wanting to move.

When Thorin finally awoke he was hit with the smell of hobbit. He realized his nose was practically buried in soft golden-brown curls. He moved back ever so slightly not wanting to scare or wake Bilbo who seemed to be in a peaceful sleep. Bilbo woke on his own a little while later. "Good morning." He heard Thorin say. "Good morning." Bilbo murmured still half asleep. Thorin was surprised at Bilbo's dismissive attitude. Thorin was expecting a surprised reaction. He was happy that Bilbo didn't mind. Suddenly he heard snickering from behind Bilbo. He looked up to see his nephews, Fili and Kili whispering together. Thorin shot them a death stare and they went silent, though they still smiled at eachother. Thorin rolled his eyes and relaxed back into a resting position. "Thorin..." Bilbo said slurring his words with tiredness. Surprised to hear the hobbit utter his name he peered at Bilbo. "Yes?" He asked inquisitively. "Have you seen Smaug?" Mr. Baggins questioned softly. "Um... Yes. But only for quick moments. I saw him when he attacked Erebor but he was either surrounded in flames, or submerged in gold and riches.

To tell you I had seen him as a whole would be a lie." Thorin didn't quite want to ruin the moment by recalling the disaster of him home in Erebor. So he said no more, and Bilbo was silent. A little while passed with them huddled together when the sun started to drip into the sky. Bilbo moaned and tunneled deeper into the fur coat as well as Thorin's chest. It was odd how a simple thick fur coat could bring the two so close. Thorin smiled at the thought though it was also somewhat provoked by Bilbo's head against his chest. The dwarf very much liked the sun's warmth, and what it did to the stuff all around him. Like Bilbo, though only the top of his head could be seen, it was all that was needed. The sun shone brightly off his chestnut curls turning them to a honey color. "Bilbo we have to get up and wake the others... Bilbo?" The hobbit made no incantation he had heard Thorin. His hands were clutching the dwarf's shirt and he was well hidden by Thorin's coat. "Bilbo." He shook the hobbit softly. The grip on his shirt loosened but he seemed to refuse to wake. He shook Baggins again. This time a sound of annoyance escaped Bilbo's lips. "Come on Bilbo, if you don't get up you'll wind up missing breakfast." Thorin whispered into the hobbit's slightly pointed ear. Bilbo gave an audible sigh of disappointment and opened his eyes.

Bilbo's vision was slightly blurred but once he rubbed his eyes everything was clear. All the dwarves were still asleep except for Thorin, and he suspected Kili and Fili may just be faking a slumber. He looked at Thorin. A smile spread across Thorin's mouth. "Good, You're awake." He said.
