*Zoey’s POV*

The next thing I know I woke up with my arms tied behind my back and my ankles toed together as well. I take a look around, it was dark and grey, the ground was cold, and it almost seemed as if I was in some sort of cellar. I looked directly in front of me, my vision slightly blurred, I saw the silloete of a man, and I couldn’t quite make out whom.

But I noticed the man wore goggles that sat on top of his head, and he was wearing a jacket. No, not a jacket, a coat, a lab coat. “Duncan,” I thought aloud. "What’s going on, were am I? Why am I here? What do you want from me? What do you want with me?" He laughed his evil laugh. I hate his laugh, yet something inside of her made her slightly attracted to it. “It’s very simple.” He said, as if he expected me to know what was going on. “You’re here for two reasons. As you know Rythian has a soft spot for you” I froze, I knew he did, I’m his apprentice, and he loves me like his sister. Although, I love him more than just a master or older brother, I loved him.

“So with you one, he will go mad,” “He has Tee,” I interrupt. "You really think that mute dinosaur will be able to keep him under control? HA! No, without you he'll go mad.” I knew he was right. “But how does that benefit you?” “In more ways than one” He said with a grin, “One, he’ll suffer. Two, with no one by his side and no path to follow he’ll become weak, vulnerable. He will join me. Together, we will rule this server!” He said with a laugh. “He’ll never do it! He’d rather die than work with you!” “Normally you’d be right, but this is different. I have you. He’ll do anything to get you back. ANYTHING. He’d willingly agree to join me to keep you safe. As you know, his weakness, is you.” He was referring to my monitors. How did he know about my monitors? “How do you know about those,” I say trying not to sound desperate. “We’ll get to that, but for now, back to the point.” The point, why I’m here.

“What’s the second reason?” I say, more demanding than asking, His grin faded. “Because you lied to me.” “What are you talking about I never lied to you.” I said truthfully. "When you came to my castle you told me you weren’t with Rythian anymore. You were lying." “I wasn’t with him at the time.” “LIAR! Don’t lie to me. I know the truth.” “I’m telling the truth!” I was, when I went to his castle I had run away with tee. “You may not have been with him directly but I know you were trying. While looking through the commands on my door computer I remembered that when you came to my castle I told you to open it for yourself. I then realized that I could trace that entry to your computer identification and check all activity under your name" What? Is that even possible? "That’s not possible!" I said almost screaming. "Shows how much you know about computers. No wonder you blew your arm off, you shouldn’t play with things you don’t understand," he stated. "I understand computers just fine, I just didn’t know the exact method I needed to at that moment." "Exactly! You didn’t know what you were doing, I bet he never taught you anything about computers, or science. Only magic, but I could teach you all of those. I can teach you everything you'll ever need to know. Join me Zoey."  Was he serious? He may be able to teach me computers, science, and magic, but he can’t teach me love. Only Rythian can do that.

“Never” I replied with a hiss. “It’s a shame, I gave you the option. I hate to leave you hear in this cellar, but you leave me no choice." He states and he begins to leave. Please, do leave me here. I can’t easily get out of these ropes. “I ow you can” the scientist spoke. "The ropes may be escapable, but this room isn’t, it’s made of warded material. Only I can break it." Did I say that out loud? “No, no did not. I have gained the capability to read your mind on will as well as speak through it. How else do you think those mushrooms told you to go through my portal?"

No, no, no, no, no, no, that means he heard my say how I feel about Rythian. “Wait, does that mean you-“ he cut me off. “Yes, yes it does. Thank you for than usefull information, oh, I just remembered while I was looking through your account messages, I can across a, interesting, unsent response.” Computer conversations, the only one I can thin of is that one with Rythian. The one with Rythian, he disconnected before he responed. That must be what he means. “He was going to tell you-“ he cut himself off, “No, its better if you don’t know. Knowing would give you hope. And hope, is dangerus. But my deal remains on the table. If you change your mind, let me know.” He walked through the portal, shutting it behind him.
