Lend A Helping Hand: For Haiti

**Hello, to anyone who reads this it would really mean a lot to me if you can please leave some feedback. I read about the contest Lend A Helping Hand and I decided that I didn't want to just stand there with my arms folded so I sat down and put some thought into this one, so this is what I came up with. Hope you can vote/comment, thank you.

--GoldenPen14--

Without warning the Earth trembles in different regions.

A catastrophe: The Republic of Haiti;

the land of high mountains has shaken abruptly.

Port-au-Prince! Port-au-Prince!

If this was my story;

I would've foreshadowed this phenomenon!

But this was behind-the-scenes works;

who is delighted in manner of destruction and devastation?

Who is the Thief that lurks,

until we emerge as a weak individual?

Thus finding ourselves barefooted and vacant.

Is it righteous that those born in gold cribs;

overlook those that are poverty-stricken?

Are there any distinctions of the spirit and soul;

between the rich and the poor?

We exist in one world,

so in God's eyes we are one.

We all ooze the same color blood;

exhale the same invisible air;

Or can the winds be appraised of?

We can all lend a helping hand

in moments of grief and torment;

today is Haiti but tomorrow can be your nest.

A bleeding heart, I now mourn

the loss of thousands of lives;

swimming in a river of distress.

We must be aware and attentive;

If our lives we commend in the Lord's hands, we will be triumphant.

I say to my Haitian brothers and sisters with a true voice;

A prayer from the inmost part of me I invoke.

The benevolence and the eternal mercy of God,

can build up a new Haiti, a new Nation--a new Home.
