Late night in L.A

MAYA'S P.O.V

I shiver as I feel a thick droplet of rain strike my cheek. Should've brought a Jacket, I think to myself, but I continue walking, hastily towards my nearby store. I tug my short black dress down as I feel it rise up my legs, almost completely exposing me.

I soon reach the embassy of midnight snacks as I push the cold metal door handle, allowing me entrance and I half smile at the cashier as I walk towards the snacks section. I fill my arms with various sweet and savoury snacks, until I'm unable to carry anymore, stumbling towards the cashier.

He glimmers a friendly smile whilst scanning my many items, placing them into a white plastic bag. I watch as he hands me the bag and I say thank you as I feel the light buzz of my phone ringing in my free hand. I smile, walking out of the store as I see my best friend Tee's name printed on my phone.

"Hey, what's up?" I say. "Where the fuck you at" I hear her complain, causing me to playfully roll my eyes. "Tee I'm literally less than a block away" I lie, picking up my pace because I am definitely more than a block away from her apartment. "Bitch... people are getting hungry and the liquor is almost gone."    "Tee I swear if you don't save me at least a bottle I'm setting these snacks on fire" I joke as she urges me to hurry up. I start to walk even faster when I hang up and I soon reach her enormous apartment block.

"Back again beautiful?" Josh- the guy at the front desk says, smirking at me. "I just missed you too much" I reply jokingly. He chuckles, wishing me a fun time as I enter the cold, quiet lift. I wait for what seems the longest lift ride ever til I finally reach Tee's floor. I can already hear the music blasting from her half open door the moment I step out of the elevator. I adjust my dress once more before I enter the apartment, full of sweaty drunk people with smiles printed across their faces.

I search around for about a minute before I see Tee and excitedly run up to her for a hug. "Fucking finally bitchhh" she slurs snatching the bag from my hands and opening and spreading the snacks on the table.

"Drunk already?" I say next to her ear. I could barely hear myself talk with all the music suffocating my ears. "Your turnnn" she replies forcing a bottle of Hennessy into my hands. I place my phone on the table next to me, opening the bottle and drinking it straight. "There's my girl!" She shouts, laughing whilst I shake my head at the pure bitterness from the drink.

She drags me when I finish to dance with her. "Tee, this is my songggg" I say as 'Nasty' by Da Baby comes on. She holds my bottle as I start to twerk on her. "Ayyyy" I hear her say as she controls me. I laugh getting up and I take my bottle back from her as we dance more to some music. I take a couple more swings of my henny before I go to sit down. I watch and see Tee dancing with numerous people and soon I start to feel the effect of the alcohol, making me feel dizzy and warm.

"Hey baby" a random guy says to me, passing me a drink, and who am I to say no, so I take the cup from him and sip. "You having a fun night?" He says to me in my ear. "Hell yeah. Shits only begun." I reply, causing him to smile, showing off his smile. "What's your name beautiful?" He asks, for which I reply. "Maya"
"That's a beautiful name" he replies. "And I'm David, but you can call me daddy" He says taking my hand to his mouth, placing a soft kiss upon it. I laugh uncomfortably  and we carry on talking and drinking and eating for what seems like hours until we exchange numbers and he leaves. "Think it's myyy turn to go too" I say to Tanya, lowly. "Aww Already" she says, Hugging me. "I knowww, I told you I'm not built for this life anymore Tee" I reply. "Well get home safe okay!" she yells as I walk away.
I stumble out into the hall and take a deep breathe as I try to sober up, but nothing helps. I can barely keep my eyes open. I manage to walk towards the elevator and I push the downwards button causing the lift to open. I enter but as I start to go down I feel nauseous so I Just decide to get off on the next floor and just take the stairs. I gag as I step off the elevator and make my way to the cold and dimly lit staircase and I make my way down peacefully.
