I sat on the bench & finally saw the bright light of the train getting closer.
The train stopped in front of me. The doors opened & people dispersed in different directions. I looked around for an empty seat trying to ignore the stares I was getting.
Dang, didn't these people know staring was rude?
I finally chose a seat next to a sleeping guy with messy brown hair. His legs were bent & pushed against his chest. He was hugging his knees. A backpack I assumed was his was dumped on the floor.
The boy's eyes fluttered open when I sat down. He sat up straight & smiled at me warily. Strands of his hair stuck out in different directions maing me smile but he didn't notice."Hi, I'm Cassie." I told him.
I was used to telling complete strangers my name. Everyone knew my name in the apartments & I knew everyones name. I got along with everyone pretty good but it wasn't enough. I needed to see the world & this was my big chance.
"I'm Nash."
We suddenly made eye contact but I quickly looked away.
I lay my head back & wondered if this was the right thing to do. Yes it was. If I went back now I.would get into huge trouble, but I wanted to go out & see the world. I loved my mom but she wasn't my real mom. I wanted to find my real mom. Maybe she could fix everything and make things better.
"Where are we?" Nash asked snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Uh, we're on our way to Virginia."
I jumped when Nash stood up & started walking away with his backpack already on his back.
"Nash!"
I quickly stood up & followed him where he finally stopped at the end of the train.
"What's wrong?"
The wind was blowing hard on my face & I suddenly wished my hair was shorter so it wouldn't keep getting in my face.
He suddenly turned around & looked at me with a serious face.
"Will you do me a favor?" He asked his face still serious.
I nodded nervously having a feeling what the favor was.
The dreaded words came out of his lips.
"Will you jump off with me?"
