Beau P.O.V

I was born in May, the month of flowers and warm weather, it was always my favorite time of year. It became even more meaningful to me when I finally got to meet him, the other person who has a tattoo like mine. The person who's tattoo signifies that he is mine and I am his till our last day. Pretty crazy right? I mean that a tattoo can change your life. This all begins at the start of 2016, January to be exact.

~2016~

I had just finished my sophomore of online university, and was looking forward to having spring semester off. My family had moved us from Europe to Korea to take care of my dad's mother who had been slowly getting weaker. I didn't mind the move I was never close with anyone back in England, except for Claire, so this would be a good start. I had been accepted into an online University studying to be an interpreter.

From a young age my parents were really set on me being bilingual just in case my soulmate was from another country, I was interested in learning because I also wanted to help those in that situation, where the soulmate spoke two different languages.

I woke up on my first day off from school to the sound of my sister arguing with my parents.

"Really my first day of freedom and I wake up to this..."

I got up and padded downstairs into the kitchen to see my dad sitting at the table having his breakfast, my sister sitting across from him, and my mom leaning against the counter looking frustrated.

" All I am saying is I am 16 now I should be allowed to sign up for Seeker!" my sister said to my parents.

"16 with a parents permission, and maybe we don't think you are ready to sign up." My mom responded.

The "Seeker" they were talking about was a program that the United Nations had created that helped people find their soulmates. It was created because the population started declining with the lack of couples and the divorce rate of the wrong people getting married. You can enter at 16 with permission or enter as an adult when you turn 18. After sending in an application they contact you and put you in a data base, if your soulmate has also registered then there will be a match and you are sent their contact info.

If people couldn't afford to sign up or teenagers couldn't get their parent's permission a lot of them posted their tattoos on social media pages in hopes someone would see.

It was extremely popular when it was first created because people were financially unstable so couldn't afford to travel to find their other half. Nowadays people have gone back to the old fashioned ways of just letting fate take its course.

I was one of those fate people. I didn't sign up for the Seeker program and didn't post my marking on social media. I wanted to find him/her on my own fall in love with them by just meeting and getting to know them.

"Maybe if you jus-" my sister was cut off by my dad.

"No means no Ophelia, we can discuss this later, you have school and I have work."

My sister turned from the kitchen and stomped up the stairs huffing under her breath.

He stood from his seat and walked to my mother grabbing her hand and turning it over to kiss the mark of a dove on her wrist, the one that matched his on his left shoulder.

My mother smiled at him and she walked him to the door.

I entered all the way into the kitchen and started grabbing my breakfast. I then headed back to my room to check emails. Grades for the fall term were coming out soon and I was expecting an email about an internship for a company.
