Maria exited the Incheon International Airport with her headphones hanging from her neck, a backpack hanging from one shoulder and her carry-on getting dragged across the airport floor.

The airport was filled with business men and women rushing to their flights, families with children running around, and couples meeting and friends reuniting.

Maria's view was blocked by a tall man in a suit carrying the sign "Reyes Family" written in fancy calligraphy.

"That's us, Maria. Let's go," her dad said walking ahead of her.

Maria sighed.

"I miss America already," she said and followed her dad.

They went into a fancy car and the person who held the signs was loading the back with the rest of their luggage. Her dad sat in the passenger side and Maria sat in the back.

The person finished loading the back and he went to the driver's side and drove them to their new house.

The car pulled up to the front of a large house and the driver immediately began unloading the back.

"We don't need a house this big. It's just the two of us," Maria stated.

"Well, since we're already moving and we have the money for it, I don't see why not. I was looking at the virtual tour and we can probably put a library in here if you want," her dad said.

"I'll think about it."

They entered into the foyer where a large chandelier hung from the ceiling and a few boxes were scattered across the floor.

The empty house echoed their footsteps as they looked around. The father-daughter duo stopped at the kitchen where most boxes were placed.

"This house is too big for the two of us," Maria thought out loud.

"Stop complaining. All I hear is whining these days. 'We don't need to spend this much money.' 'I don't need any of this stuff.' 'I want to live a normal life.'" Her dad said in a high pitched voice.

"When you're the sole heir of multi-billion dollar companieS, you're life is anything but normal," he added.

"What if I don't wanna be the heir?" Maria wondered.

"Then, both companies go bankrupt and the economy will get destroyed," her dad said with a straight face.

There was a small moment of silence until Maria said, "I'll put some thought into it, but I have a request."

"That is...?"

"The school keeps the fact of me being an heir to companies a secret. I want to be treated normally for once."

"You know you're going to a privately owned school mainly run by parents with close to the same status as us right?"

"So I have to deal with snobby rich kids too?!"

Her dad sighed. "We'll discuss this later. The driver is waiting and I have to go to a meeting at my new office at the Korean branch of our organization. I'll get the principal to hide your identity and school here starts in a week so start unpacking."

Maria's dad kissed her on the cheek goodbye and the front door closed behind him.

A/N

Ya girl is back with a new story! I think I'm gonna keep the chapters really short but I'll update weekly since it will be easier to manage. Also, I still haven't figured out my book title so I'm trying to work on that. I hope you like it!
