"So how far along are you??" I squeal while sitting beside Veronica.

"2 1/2 months." She say smiling.

"Here baby put this on your eye." My ma say handing her an ice pack.

"Thank you ma." She say placing it on her eye.

"I'm hom- what the fuck happened to your eye." My da say slamming the door once he look at Veronica.

"I uh- I got into a fight."

"With who?"

"Carter." She say lowering her head.

"Ima kill him."

"Don't worry about all that da Victoria handled him." I say.

"Alright I'm just happy you okay. No promises tho still might hurt that punk If i catch him in the streets." He say.

"What he hit you for anyways?" He say sitting beside Victoria on the couch across from us and my mother sit beside him.

"Well, I got pregnant but he swear it wasn't by him. But I haven't been with nobody else I swear." She explain.

"Oowee another grand baby." My ma say doing a small dance.

"May not be the only one." Victoria say looking at me.

"So anyways ma what you cook cause I'm starving?" I say changing the conversation.

"I made some chicken. Clarissa in the kitchen too" she explain and I walk in.

"Hey baby." I say kissing her head.

"Hey ma. About earlier I didn't mean to interrupt what you and daddy August had going on." She say.

"It's fine don't worry about it. Now what did you have to tell me?" I say sitting beside her.

"Well you remember how I skipped school and all." She say.

"Yeah.."

"Well it was because I went to see Chris."

"What Clarissa why would you do something like that?"

"I just wanted some answers and clearly he didn't give me the right ones. I regret ever going against you and going up there. I'm sorry ma but I wanted to be the one to tell you. Not nobody else." She explain.

"It's okay, I'm just happy you told me. Now don't do no shit like that nomore he's dangerous."

"Yes ma'am."

~3 Months later~
*August*
"Now y'all  are to the age where we need to talk about the bird and the bees." I say to Issa and Clarissa.

"Da can we not do this some other time?" Issa ask.

"Well what's wrong with now?" I ask.

"We're kinda trying to help aunt Veronica move into her new condo." Clarissa say giving me the duh nigga face.

"Alright y'all win for now."

"Clarissa! I thought you was helping me in the kitchen!" Veronica yell.

"Coming auntie." She say getting up and going into the kitchen.

"Now that's it just you and I, do you have a lil girl friend?" I ask Issa.

"Nah but it's this girl I got my eyes on. We have a dance in the spring and I'm thinking about asking her." He explain.

"True true. Well son you are a Alsina she gone yeah." I explain.

"Right." He say laughing.

"Knock knock!" Taraji say walking into the house.

"Hey grandma." Issa say walking over to her.

"Hey baby take this here gift and sit it on the table and where is your mother and aunt." She say handing him the gift.

"We in the kitchen ma!" Dyme yell.

"Okay! And hello August. It's a surprise to see you here." She say hugging me.

"I guess you can say me and Dyme kinda working something out." I explain.

"Well I'm glad to hear that." She say walking into the kitchen.

*Dyme*
"Girl if you don't get yo ass off my counter!" Veronica say to Clarissa.

"Yes ma'am." She say hopping down. "Hey grandma you finally made it." She say hugging my ma.

"Yes I did baby. Your grandpa wouldn't let me leave." She say laughing.

"Where's y'all sister Aaron I thought she was coming." She ask.

"She said she's on the way." Veronica say bending down putting something under the counter.

"Be careful baby don't bend down too far. You're pregnant." My ma say lifting her back up slowly.

"I'm sorry ma I just keep forgetting." She say.

"You can't forget that my niece or nephew is in there." I say rubbing her stomach.

"Dyme..." my mama say looking at me funny.

"What's wrong?" I ask.

"You look.. different." She say.

"Good or bad?" I ask.

"Have you and August been having sex lately?" She ask.

"Uh oh." Clarissa say.

"Are you saying that you think I'm pregnant?" I say.

"There's only one way to find out for sure." She say.

"Dyme?" The Doctor say.

"Y'all  I don't know if I'm ready for another baby." I say.

"Well sis it is what it is." Aaron say. "Now go before the doctor think you not here." She say shoving me.

"Hey how you doing?" I say shaking her hand and following her to the back.

"Well.??" Victoria say when I walk up to them in the waiting room.

"Looks like I'm expecting another baby." I say smiling.

"Dang girl we at the same time as me." Veronica say rubbing her stomach. She is now 5 1/2 months into her pregnancy so she's visible.

"So now the billion dollar question is how are you going to tell August." Aaron ask.

"I don't know but I'll figure it out."
