it was about 9 in the morning, the two boys were both asleep, but this time in different beds. everything was fine and even josh, usually having troubles falling asleep and even more staying asleep, didn't constantly jerk up because of flashing nightmares, but actually slept trough the whole night.
after they had gone through their usual morning routine, they made their way to the skate park to meet their friends.
on their way they remembered the photography thing with tyler.
"i am going to be really pissed if he doesn't show up mate, i showered and all!" said brendon jokingly.
after giggling about the joke that was actually rather ironic, brendon loved showering, especially with a certain boy, the both went back to listening to the music coming out of their earphones.
shortly before they arrived they ran into a friend of theirs.
a tall girl in blue mom jeans and a lacey black bralette, holding a cruiser (that's a skateboard with longboard wheels and my choice of transportation) under her arm.
"hey l, what's up?" asked josh, holding out his fist, waiting for her to step near and softly push her crooked fingers against his. brendon became a butterfly kiss on the cheek and then they all went trough the bushes, what made them look a little bit like disney characters that just found a secret entrance to a new, exciting world.
when josh stepped on the the tarmac he saw an actual disney prince. at least that's what tyler reminded him of when he laid eyes on him. with pink cheeks and his smile wide and bright, he laughed at the tall boy standing next to him. josh recognized him as one of his friends, but he couldn't take his glance from the little prince.
he wasn't wearing anything particularly girly, something society would usually expect to be worn by a girl. blue jeans, a little distressed and high-waisted, a dress shirt with rolled up sleeves in a simple champagne color that complimented his tanned skin and his neck was hugged by a thin black leather band with a little plant charm on it.
he looked simply, yet so stunning - simply stunning.
and then he turned his head, his sparkling eyes, still a little squinted from the laughter stopped twitching when they wandered over joshs features. he smiled and that was it. josh expected more. being drowned by the emotions, the love for the appearance of the boy, the urge to capture (as in capture him on paper or in a picture, i'm not going to be that kinky) him in every style the artist knew and the deep need to protect him from what, or whoever was going to hurt the boy. he expected music to underly his next steps, cherry blossoms to magically appear and shower the boy with the cheeks, in a color of roses that made girls cry over them, whenever he blushed.
but nothing like that happened, because josh was human, not in a teenage romance and not high enough to hallucinate a scenario like that. all these thoughts rushed trough his brain in just a part of a second, so no one noticed anything.
"did we take anything this morning? i'm feeling a little unusual." asked josh while turning to his best friend.
brendon, currently hugging a tiny girl in a summer dress, looked at him surprised and then a little amused, but after a second he realized how serious josh was.
"no man, we didn't take anything, at least not together. are you alright?"
"something really weird just happened. tyler, the small photography dude, do you see him any different than you did last time? does he look anything like tony to you?"
brendons eyes suddenly got really big and he dragged josh to one of the ramps and they both sat down, a little away from their friends, who were mostly chatting to tyler.
"he is not tony. tony is gone, josh. you got rid of him, cut him out of your life, for the best i wanna add. this guy looks nothing like him and i'm sure they have nothing to do with each other. why does he remind you of him, what exactly does?" bren spoke hastily, grabbing joshs trembling hand between the sentences.
"i just got this feeling, the same i had with him in like, the beginning. it feels exactly the same and i can't go trough that again."
brendon sighed released and now with a smile on his lips and leaned forward to hug the other boy.
"babe, you have nothing to worry about, those are just butterflies!"
