I was screaming, and crying. It was probably around midnight. Jake came in with Zach. Both woke me up. They asked what I was dreaming about. But I kept quiet. I was dreaming about my sister. She had a knife stabbed onto her chest. Chasing after me with another, she said she wanted me to join her. Zach looked at Jake. Zach gave the can we talk alone look to Jake. Jake nodded and went away. Zach was standing he sat down next to me.
"What's going on."
"I really don't want to talk about it."
"Tori. You can. I'll be here. Along with your cousin." He comforts.
"Can I ask something?" I look down. I wipe a tear away, I was suppose to be tough.
"You just did. But yeah go ahead." Sounds like something I'd say.
"Why are you here?"
"I can be."
"But why?" I push.
"Why are you?" He challenges.
"Reasons." I shoot him a glare.
"How'd you get those bruises?" He questioned.
"Reasons again." I'm in no room for conversation about my ex.
"Is every answer you give going to be reasons."
"Yes."
"I'll be here when you want to talk about it."
It seems it should be the other way around. Jake giving me this talk. After all Jake is related to me. Not Zach.
I laid my head down on my pillow.
"I'm gonna stay right here on the floor. That case if you scream bloody hell, you won't wake up the whole neighborhood that way."
"Thank you."
"Always. Anyth-" he says as I drift off. I didn't catch the last part of his sentence.
My sister was standing there. She wasn't like the last dream. She was standing there, happy. She seemed totally fine. She smiled at me, held out her hand. I take it. She leads me. Through the woods. We stop she points at something.
Before I can look to see what it was, I'm being shaken awake.
"I'm up!" I yelled. Opening my eyes. They sting, when the air hits them. I was crying.
"Tori." He let out a sigh of relief. "What's going on?"
"Just another dream. It was a good one." I say getting up.
"Okay."
"I need your help." I ask bluntly. Not realizing what I'm saying.
"What do you need?"
"Take me to the woods."
"Why. I have school today."
"Oh."
"I'm sure you can go on your own. Or you can wait till I'm back."
