I'll Get to it Tomorrow

The constant blinking of the led light on my phone bothered me so much that I couldn't sleep. Even if I turned around I would still feel and remember the distinct rhythm of the flashing light. I decide to just check the notification before I go to sleep to stop the uncomfortable feeling I have in my gut every time the light blinks. As I type in my almost painfully obvious password, I begin to think about random things that have happened over the course of this day. I end up getting too caught up in thought and my phone goes into 'sleep' mode. Turning my phone back on and re-typing the password takes almost no time as I check the notification screen on my phone. I see tons of useless messages and e-mails from accounts that I forgot I had, and one message from a friend I met online. I swipe the message to the side, getting rid of the notification. I'll probably text her back tomorrow.

I turn the phone screen back off as I lay my head down. A faint noise catches my attention in the otherwise completely silent room. I sit up quickly to scan my surroundings, but all I see is a dark silhouette of a few things that are normally in my room. I forgot that my light was off. How did I forget such an obvious thing like that? Of course my light is off, I was about to go to sleep. I get up to turn the light on, my eyes straining to see any form of indication that I'm going towards my light switch. I put my arms out in front of me, trying to feel for any objects in my way so that I don't run into them. Eventually my hands touch a wall and I feel around the wall for the light switch. I flick it once.

Wait...

What?

The light didn't turn on?

I try again. Still no light.

"Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. No no no no no-"

Wait, hold on. Did I ever replace the light bulb? I let out a heavy sigh as I realize that my light bulb had been out since last week, and I had been too lazy to replace it. I then turn to what I assume is the way I came from and run in that direction. I make a risky guess and jump forward, just barely landing on my bed. Checking out that noise will have to wait until tomorrow.

"An unidentifiable woman was found lying in her bed, dead today. Her face was severely disfigured and her body was dismembered. One of her arms is missing, along with her heart. The police were unable to find any contacts on her phone or her computer. If you have any information about this tragic event or who this woman might be, please contact the following number..."

I'm low-key disturbed that I was able to come up with this on the spot. Other stories probably won't be this weird/disturbing.

I'm also kinda scared because I based tiny details f the main character on me--
