Chica barked happily and about 45 minutes later Mark came back out with two plates. He put one down in front of jack and held chicas collar to keep her away from it.

He took the plate and ate hungry ,tearing it with his teeth ,he grinned at the tasted at looked up at Mark excited " it's delicious.

Mark, who had been watching for his reaction smiled brightly and cut himself some sitting by the pool and ate while Chica lay on the floor letting out occasional whimpers begging doe food.

Jack soon finished and put the plate down and gazed at Mark happily ,he was nice,not horrible ,handsome ,not a monster. He blushed softly to himself "what do you do up here?"

He tiled his head " video games? Cars? "He was very confused . Jack thought " do you do ,work?" He said softly curious.

Mark stoped for a moment. "Yea- no... kinda. It's complicated" he scratched the back of his neck nervously "I make videos. I wouldn't call it a job but I guess you could"

He tilted his head," What's a video?" He asked curiously gazing at him.

Mark gasped "what?! I'll show you!" He got out his phone not thinking about how alien it would look towards jack and went to YouTube.

Jack backed away hiding  in the water scared staring at the phone shakily ,it may of been a weapon!

He looked over to see jack looking at the phone like Mark was holding a bomb. Mark chuckled "sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. Hehe. This is a phone. They can do all sorts of stuff. Whatever I want to know I can wright it in and it will tell me!" He smiled proudly. "Come here I'll show you what I do" turns the screen to face the other boy.

Jack nodded and shyly swam over to him and peeked out the water,his fins back as he stared at the device intently .

Mark pressed play on the recording felling a little self conscious as he did. He watches for his new friends reaction.

Jack looked confused but soon didn't think about it and smiled brightly and laughed when he made jokes ,resting his head in his hands ,watching the other happily and with admiration,it was kinda cute.

Mark blushed shyly as he listed to the adorable laugh that came from jack whenever he made a dumb joke. We waited for it to end not wanting to take his eyes of the boy. "What did you think?" He smiled and lay in front of the pool leaning on his elbows.

Jack gazedup at him ,fascinated now by the other " your so funny!" He grinned brightly ,handsome,funny,kind, caring. It made his heart melt.

Mark felt himself blush at the compliment "thank you!" He giggled rocking forward on his elbows casually, not noticing how close his face was to the others.

Jack giggled and soon realised how close the other was and froze,blushing brightly,his fins fanned out wide,he bit his lip slightly gazing at him ,and lookingvto his lips.

As not to be awkward but not to far away as to be obvious "so what do you do in the ocean?" He asked happily.

"Swim " he said softly and frowned "I play with the creatures, uh and not much else, I have a few friends. 'not many' he thought" I explore a lot. like sunken ships and still like that ,it's cool"

Mark nodded paying attention to what this new person was saying. "Well I can be your friend" he smiled happily. "I'm sure I can show you around I have um... a friend. He's.. he's interesting. He knows magic and stuff. Personality I try to stay out of it but I know he could let you have legs for a while if you wanted"

Jack grinned "is like having you as a friend. and by legs you me those things on the end of yeh with the wiggly things?" He asked curiously.

Mark laughed out and bent his knees pointing his toes in the air by where he lay. He wiggles his toes "haha. Yeah. It's a lot easier to move around and well, breath if you don't have gills and a tail. But he can give them back at any time"

Jack nodded smiling brightly "I think it would be cool" he looked at his tail.

Mark smiled happy about the thought of having Jack walking around with him. "I'll call him over" he said happily.

He nodded grinning brightly excited to have legs "is it hard to move them?"

He thought for a second "no, maybe? I don't know. Not for me I've never known any differently. But maybe it will fell different to you"

He nodded "can you swim?" He asked softly then blushed "I mean of course you can, why else would yeh have this?" He mentally hit himself, he was an idiot.

Mark laughed more to himself that at jack "maybe not as fast as you. But yeah I can" he said suddenly proud of his ability to swim. He got out his phone to look at his friend -Felixs- number excited for jack to have legs "is jack your full name?" He asked wondering if merpeople had different names than humans.

Jack nodded "but the area of the sea I live in it called septiceye ,so it would be jack of septiceye" he explained

He found himself constantly paying full attention to whatever this boy would say "Oh that's cool" he said looking into his eyes. "I texted- uh... sent a message to my friend. You probably have no idea huh? He's coming over tomorrow morning which is really good because he is normally to busy.
