Sorry I haven't posted for almost a week! And thanks for the reads and votes!

*The next day*

Hazel's P.O.V.

I'm alone in the library with Shawn for lunch right now, thanks to his persuasion with the teachers to let me be with him. We just talk about some stuff when he randomly says,"Are we friends? Like, you know, being to trust each other with stuff."

"I guess," I tell him. "I mean we always talk to each other and I'm not one to trust someone with things that easily. I have never shown my room to someone before who wasn't my family. When I was a kid and had friends and brought them home, we would usually hang out in the living room."

"Where are your friends?" he asked me.

"Well, I only had like 2 friends, but one of them moved away and forgot all about me, and the other one just backstabbed me. But I got over it pretty quickly. So back to what I was saying. I've never met someone like you. So yeah, I consider you as my friend."

I know you like him, but take it slow Hazel. You met him like 3 weeks ago. First, finish getting to know him more and making sure he won't let you down as a friend.

Shawn's P.O.V.

"Oh, that's great." I say. I like her and everything but I don't know if she wants a relationship right now. Heck, I don't even know if she likes me! But for now, she is a really good friend. We've been going to the bakery where we met for the 1st time sometimes together, and the waitress always tells us,"I told you so!" and me and Hazel laugh.

Anyways, the bell rang and she had to leave to her regular classes, while I go back to the small room and wait for my history teacher, which isn't bad since I enjoy history a lot. While I wait, I can't help but think about how Hazel feels about me. I don't wait to ruin our good relationship as friends. My thoughts are interrupted as soon as I hear the door open and my teacher coming in.

School was over and I was headed out the back door so I wouldn't be caught up in the crowd out front. I got in my car and texted Hazel if she wanted me to pick her up. After a few moments she replied, "No thanks. I'll text you later, ok? :)"

I wonder why she didn't want me to take her home. I decided to let it go and just go home myself.

Hazel's P.O.V.

Shawn texted me saying if I needed a ride home. I said no because today I just felt like walking, be alone, and just breathe, you know?

I got home and I didn't see my mom anywhere. I started getting worried and went up to her bedroom. I went to her bathroom and saw the door was a crack open. I pushed the door and I saw my mom, unconscious, on the floor. I started screaming and hysterically crying and calling out my mom's name. After 2 minutes of doing this I wanted to get up and call the ambulance downstairs. I was going down the stairs and I felt like if I was Alice when she was falling down the hole in Wonderland. My head is going everywhere and I'm seeing 3 of everything. I make it to the kitchen and I was about to get the phone that was there, but I just see black.

Shawn's P.O.V.

Something didn't feel right in my body. Like if I needed to do something. I was watching a movie with Aaliyah, which always lifts my spirits up, but for some reason, its not. All I can think about is Hazel. Hazel. HAZEL.

I immediately get up off the couch and grab my keys. I can hear my sister screaming my name, calling me to come back, but I can't. I get in my car and get on the street as fast as I can. I get to her house's driveway and I see the door is open a little. Something is definitely wrong. I open the door and call out her name. I don't see my sides, I just head up the stairs and go to her room, but she isn't there. I go back downstairs, turn my head, and that's where I see her. Her light brown hair covering her face and her hands layed out like if she wanted to get something. I see a phone on the counter. I wonder why she wanted to get the phone there. I head back upstairs and check everywhere. I see her mom on the bathroom floor in the master bedroom. It hits me there. She must've suffered a panic attack from seeing her mom and tried to call 911.

You can probably tell that I'm thinking this to myself 10x faster than real life time.

I run back downstairs and get the phone and call 911 myself. They said that they would come in 8 minutes. In the meantime, I'm calling my parents to tell them what happened and they're coming here too.

Now that I did everything, I get on the floor next to Hazel, bawling my eyes out, praying that nothing bad happens to her and her mom. I didn't want to pick her up, because I don't really know if that's a good idea for the paramedics, but I get her hair out of her face, and I see the most depressing thing. Her face is red and mascara is covering her eyelids. Her face with no expression. Her eyes closed, and I'm fearing that I may never see the color of her one-of-a-kind shade of brown eyes light up ever again. I need her. I need her so bad. Even though I met her almost a month ago, I need her.

Hope you liked this chapter, and happy 2017! :)
