Oh My God! It Did Happen!

"Alright, you freaky little nut job! What hell do you think you're doing!?" Ichigo yelled after we stepped outside.

"How scary, you big brute. Jeepers, you're not going to hurt me, are you?" Rukia asked, somehow managing to sound innocent yet mockingly sarcastic at the same time.

"First of all, you can knock it off with that goody-two-shoes act, okay?!" Ichigo pointed at her.

"Well, I think its pretty good, considering I learned it overnight." Rukia replied smugly.

"Hey, Ichigo, calm down you're gonna make scene." You said quietly, pulling on his arm and looking around.

"Alright, forget it!" Ichigo gave in, "So tell me just what you're doing here now, anyway. Weren't you supposed to be heading back to your vampire clan or whatever it was?" You could tell Ichigo was getting extremely annoyed.

"I can't." Rukia stated as-a-mater-of-factly. "Only vampires can go back to the Coven. I haven't the power to return anymore." She said with sadness in her voice.

"What do you mean?" You asked curiously.

"Last night, I lost almost all of my powers as a vampire. I'm afraid they were all absorbed into Ichigo."

"Huh? I wouldn't know anything about that." Ichigo said like he didn't want anything to do with it.

"Thanks to you, for the time being, I'm stuck in this ridiculous human form."

"Hey, what do you mean by ridiculous human form?" You asked a bit offended.

"It's the state in which a vampire reverts to when their power is drained." Rukia informed you, "For most vampires that aren't pure bloods, it means that they become human once again; however, they cannot survive for more than a week without turning back into a vampire. But for pure bloods, it means that it's a temporary form that last until enough power is restored to change back."

"Oh, now I get it." You and Ichigo said at the same time.

"And so, until all of my powers come back, it's up to you, Ichigo, to perform the duties of a vampire." She stated, "It's only natural. You now possess the strength of a vampire. You do not have the right to refuse your calling."

"No way!" Ichigo interrupted.

"Yeah! You can't do that to him! He has his own life to live, you know!" You explained.

"What?" Rukia asked like it was unbelievable.

"You can't just expect him to drop everything just because you messed up!" You stated folding your arms over your chest.

"Yeah, my monster fighting days are over. That was a one-time deal." Ichigo threw in making an "X" with his arms.

"What, don't be ridiculous. You did just fine yesterday." Rukia argued stepping forward.

"If by fine, you mean we almost died, then, yeah, just fine." You mumbled turning away from Rukia.

"Hey, I protected you." Ichigo said as if you had insulted him.

"Yeah, but that doesn't change the fact that we almost died." You poked his chest as if it would convince him you were right.

"Guys!" Rukia yelled to get your attention, "Can we get back to the conversation, please?"

"Look, I only did it 'cause my family was in danger. But that doesn't mean I'm about to go risk my life for complete strangers. Come on, (Y/n)." With that said Ichigo walked away with you behind him.
