We were sitting in a little room reading stories that we created aloud to each other. It was the four of us: me, Durin, Wyrda, and Revan. We were all young children around the age of seven. Specifically I was 6, Durin was 9, Wyrda was 10, and Revan was 7. "And then I became king of all of you and lived happily ever after," Durin said proudly as he finished his story. "As if," said Revan. "Yeah you can't even beat us," laughed Wyrda. Revan laughed along, "Haha yeah Durin just admit it, YOUR A NOOB!" Durin looked down at the floor. I couldn't tell what he was thinking but I knew he was sad. I was going to go over and comfort him but the my mentor came in. "Lady Chantel, your late for your training." Yep that was me Lady Chantel, future Ruler of the Kingdom of Auraviria.

My mentor was named Charles and he was around his 50's and his young blond hair turned into gray. He's been mentoring me ever since I was 3 so we've been pretty close. I could call him my father because he's been that to me since my other father has been assassinated from the Blood Dragon. We walked along the path that leads to the castle's training area in silence. He finally broke the silence. "You know I would advise you to stop hanging around those peasants, they'll do no good to you." "You haven't even met them yet they're actually good fighters, they train themselves," I defended. I always wondered why people look at peasants as weak people, you never know, they might be the next best knights of the kingdom. Then we walked the rest of the way to the training grounds on silence.

After training I went to the dining area and when I arrived at the grand doors of silver I stopped and heard Charles and my mother, Queen Nidalee, talking and I could just about understand what they're saying and couldn't help but eavesdrop. "Chantel was hanging out with those peasant boys again your majesty, I don't think it's a good idea for her to hang around people that are at the bottom of the pyramid," I heard Charles say. I couldn't believe that Charles doesn't want me to hang around with the only true friends I had. "I hate to say it Charles but you are right, she might end up acting like them and it will get her no where," I heard my mom say. My mom was tearing me and my friends apart. I could feel tears in my eyes but I had to know what will happen so I listened a little more. "So what are we going to do your majesty?" "I think it's best we ban her from that place and keep her in the castle until she is queen, please tell her about this." "I will do as you wish your majesty." I couldn't believe it they're ruining my life. These guys were the only friends that didn't act weird as if I didn't fit in. I felt more tears fill my eyes and roll down my cheeks. I ran to my bedroom and requested to skip dinner. I didn't feel like eating anymore.
