Life in 4014 for 12 year old Miles, is really complicated. Especially for him. He comes from a family full of evil master minds, and since the evilness is passed down for generations, security is tight for him.
Chapter one
"Yeah yeah yeah," I said. "Whatever." My specially made "security" robot commanded me to empty my pockets. I hate that robot, always telling me what to do and stuff. It's not my fault my ancestors were evil and caused a nuclear war. But since 40% of the world is uninhabitable from the nuclear war, I can see why I'm always on a tight schedule.
Let me give you some knowledge before we proceed into my story. In 2056, my ancestors Steve brown, and Isabel brown, were married. They both shared a consuming obsession for nuclear wars, and destroying the world. Rumor has it, they combined those obsessions into one disaster. Steve was a man who liked to get things done. The couple was thinking about actually destroying the world. So Steve made a plan. The couple gathered nuclear materials and with help from some other evil friends, and an abandoned military base, they designed a highly effective nuclear bomb. They launched it in 2099, and all of Asia, was wiped out. Now luckily, allies with Asia new who did it, so it didn't lead to further attacks on other countries.
Now, since that disaster, all of the generations good and bad, were treated like the most dangerous people on earth. "Miles, please proceed to science class." My robot said in a digitalized voice. His name is ZEpar, by the way. In science class, it's just me, my desk, my learning materials, and ZEpar. No sharp or harmful things are allowed in any of the places I go, except for lunch time, which only has forks, spoons, and knives. The knives however, are only allowed to cut, and are really dull. One slight bump on the knife, and the entire lunchroom is on lockdown. Today science class came to an abrupt halt, and ZEpar stopped talking. Then suddenly, the doors were torn of the hinges, and in came a human. What? A real human? I rarely see humans. Some times only once a month. But something told me this one was different. For obvious reasons the metal doors being torn off, but, he had highly sophisticated gadgets on his wrists and torso. His voice sounded out, surprising me, in a rough voice. "Miles, you're coming with us." Us? Where were the rest?
Chapter2
As I walked out the door into the dimly lit hallway I heard the faint sounds of sirens blaring in the distance. Before I could ask what is going on, I was interrupted by the strange man that that tore off the metal doors earlier. "Miles. We need your help. The world is in danger." Danger? What happened so bad that they need my help? Why didn't they just get their fancy robots to do the job? "Why do you need my help? Aren't I a threat to every living sole on this earth?" I said "No time to explain right now" he said. "I'll explain in the space shuttle."
Inside the shuttle it is very overwhelming. There are a lot of levers, switches, and buttons all over the place. Now, compared to 2014 space shuttles, it's really compact. Like the size of a bus from 2014. But the passenger seats are a different story. They are made of leather with a gold trim. In fact, they looked so fancy it's like they're brand new. As the man and I sat down, I could get a better look at him. He looked like an Asian man, with what looked like battle scars all over his face and neck. And he just looked blankly into the wall a few feet in front of us. It was silent in the passenger area, the silence broken here and there by the occasional rumbling of the space craft. "Hey uh sir, what is going on, and why am I here?" As he looked at me I flinched a little as he looked at me. "Fine, I'll tell you."
"I interrupted you today at approximately 12:00pm today because we need your help. Your ancestors that set off the nuclear bomb to Asia in 2099 wasn't the only one they made." He said "Wait, so they made more than one?" He nodded his head in agreement. "Yes I'm afraid the world may lose another 40% of it's resources. Ever since the bomb went of in Asia, we tried to find Steve and Isabel, but there were no traces of them. So we went after the other personnel involved with the location and making of the bomb." He paused for a moment, trying to regain his memories "We interrogated and interrogated, but no one would say anything to us, even to each other. So they eventually went crazy. And each one would mumble different words. The ones we got were "anchorage," "base," "blood," and "scanner." "So we sent drones to look for the base in anchorage, Alaska. It took us 47 years, but we found it." "Why did it take so long?" I asked. "Well it turns out it was one of the most secret military base in the entire world at that time, so it was well hidden. Once we got to the computers we hacked into them trying to get as much info as possible, but as we later found out, there was supposed the be another launch this year, 4014. We tried to stop the launch, but it never worked because it requires a blood sample, and a finger print from the Brown family. You, Miles hold the key to end this bomb."
As I let it sink in for a moment I spoke up. "So if I don't stop this bomb, only 20% of this earth will be alive?" "Yes, Miles." "The bomb is supposed to launch to the United States next." "And why were there sirens outside of my school?" "It's a fake warning for the civilians. It's meant to keep them indoors just in case someone finds out and starts a riot." As we landed in anchorage there were guards all around. "Now get out very slowly ok?" "Ok"
