Chapter One: Dunkin' Donuts.
Mary's POV: " How much longer?" I whined, stomping my feet.
"Mary we just got out of the parking lot. It's only a five minute long walk."Jennah said.
I pulled out my IPhone and quietly put on Look At Me Now.
"LEGGO" we recited in-sync.
We got weird looks from runners passing by. Didn't phase us much, but Jennah liked to mess with people.
"WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT!" Jennah screamed at the cross country team, practicing.
I chuckled to myself. We continued down the street to Dunkin' Donuts, and I turned my music off as we entered. The familiar smell of coffee and donuts entered my nose and I smiled. I adjusted my outfit and hair before stepping further into the store. Right then, we heard a familiar voice. Jennah and I knew who it was, our eyes widened.
"What the hell?!" we scream/whispered.
It was Niall goddamn Horan in Dunkin Donuts.
I Passed him ordering and went directly up to get my coffee.
One of our very good friends was the manager, so we got free coffee everyday. It was nice.
Niall gave me weird looks as I grabbed our coffee. So, naturally, I gave him weird looks back. I mean, don't get me wrong, I knew it was Niall Horan and all, but I didn't want to look desperate yet...
"Thanks, Bri!" I said to the girl who gave us our coffee.
"See You Tomorrow!" she gave me a smile in return obviously she was hard at work *not*.
Long story short, Jennah and I have been best friends since forever. We met in preschool and have just kinda grown up together. I mean, we're pretty much the same person. Other than looks, of course. Jennah is tall, thin and very pretty. I'm the same just 5'1.
When I turned around I noticed Jennah already talking to the boys. Of course. I brought her the coffee and sat down next to her. I mean, if Jennah hadn't asked me,
"Why are you staring?"
I wouldn't have noticed my eyes locked on his emerald green ones. I could feel the heat rise up my cheeks he smiled. His teeth were perfect, his smile was astonishing, how could one be so perfect? My thoughts were cut off as felt my back pocket vibrate.
"Brenna;)" Why is she calling? I picked up and I heard a plastic bag crunch. Of course she's eating. She eats all the time, but she's a twig. Life's unfair like that.
"HI!!!!" she screamed in my ear, her chips suffocating the sound coming out of her mouth.
"Woah, tone it down like seven notches, please."
"Okay, well you know how Sophie is dating Kenzie?" She asked me, excitedly.
You see, Brenna had this huge crush on this boy Kenzie. Honestly I think they'd be great together, but I really don't like or trust him, so I've forbidden it.
"No, I've already heard too much."
"Boo you whore!" She yelled.
"Stop quoting mean girls!" I yelled back, getting a questioning glance from Jennah and the boys.
"Fine, goodbye then."
"Uhh, goodbye?" I laughed and tapped end.
I put my phone down.
"Well, we better go." As we walked out, we heard a loud shout.
"OOOOO" We heard Niall shout.
"Harry's got a crush!" Niall yelled.
Jennah smiled at Niall, then said,
"Yeah Mary, I think Harry likes, you your relationship name would be... nah I cant think of anything. But really he-" I cut her off mid-sentence.
"Yeah... no. But if he asks me then... yes, obviously. Anyway, he wont ask me out! We just met! There would be no relationship name!"
Just then, Harry called out my name. I walked over to him. He pulled me aside and said,
"How about I walk you home. I have nothing to do and you are very attractive, so, shall we?" He held out his hand for me to take.
"Yes." I reluctantly put my hand in his.
Not gonna lie, here. Going on a walk with Harry Styles was something out of a dream. I couldn't imagine why he was in a small town in Maine, and I sure couldn't see why he offered to walk me home.
"Why thank you," and we walked out of the dunkin donuts, hand in hand.
**3 minutes into the walk**
"So, when you asked for my company on this walk, you said, "because I have nothing to do and you are very attractive," would you still walk with me if you had something to do? Or I wasn't attractive?"
"I still would, yes."
"Are you lying?" I asked, smirking.
"Uhhh... Yes?"
"So you are saying you find me attractive?"
"Yes. I am saying that you're hot as hell and- yeah never mind." He looked embarrassed. It made me happy.
"Such a boy."
"What did you expect from an eighteen year old?" He asked.
"Too much, apparently." I smiled, shaking my head.
He laughed then handed me a paper. I opened it, "You're gorgeous, here's my number." It said.
"Wait, are you even single?" He said.
"Yeah."
"Why? If I went to your school I would've tapped that long ago." He joked, with a proud expression on his face.
"Too much, I expected too much!"
*****AT HOME*****
Harry and I sat outside and waited for the rest of them to show up.
Jennah and I moved in together when we were seventeen. Our parents were also good friends and they went into retirement together. All the way in Florida. But, we got my house in return for them deserting us.
"Mary?"
"Yes?"
"Would you care to accompany me on a date?"
"YES-" I yelled, I sucked in a breath, "I mean yes, of course."
"Tomorrow." His eyes lit up.
"Okay? Where?" I asked excitedly.
"Surprise."
"Come on, tell me!"
"No never!" He yelled, picking me up off the stairs, I threw my head back laughing.
"Fine!" I agreed.
Headlights then glared in our eyes. There they were.
