“Don’t go!” shouted Doofy as loud and clear as he could to make sure that everybody understood.
“You don’t have to say that twice!” replied Lucy.
“We have to be brave, guys. Someone has to go at some point. I know this trap anyway, It’s the one used for the most important pharaos. Not that there’s an important pharao9 in here. So... I guess I’ll go...” said Luke, forgetting about the ‘we-are-in-a-real-pyramid-I-could-die’ stuff. “Claire... Would you give me a lucky kiss? I mean... Would you wish me luck? Though there is no way that I can die because everything is fake” said Luke, just to seem brave. Although after the stuff that he said, he had just made himself seem really stupid to everybody. But Claire still liked him. She only cared about physical stuff, if you know what I mean. And if you had seen Luke, you probably would have thought he looked like a god. Anyway, Claire didn’t mind about anything that had to do with personality up until that point.
So, back to the ‘I’m-so-stupid-I-will-go-to-impress-claire’ stuff, Luke peered at the terrifying blade. His thoughts went something like this: ‘Oh-My-God Oh-My-God Oh-My-God Oh-My-God I am going to die!’. But then Lucy remembered that in her logic class, (I know! How nerdy right?) she had learnt about these things. In a few seconds, she knew exactly how to pass without touching the blade. Suddenly, before Luke could do, or say anything, she charged at the blade. She was really confident, but everyone was so surprised, they thought she was going to get herself killed! But at 2:23 and precisely 7 seconds, she crossed. She had done it! Calculating weird stuff about math and what-not, she had calculated at what second she needed to cross! And she was still alive. The blade had not even gotten close to her. She screamed at Claire to come charging at the blade at exactly 2:23 and 17 seconds, at the latest, and guess what? She made it! After she had helped the scared Luke and the strangely willing to cross Doofy, she smiled with pride, because once again, math had saved lives! “OMG Lucy, how the PRETTY FLOWERS did you do that? I mean, you were amazing! Like zoom, and you were alive! And I am too! Though it was hard, because I had to do it a the exact second, but anyway, you were great!” shrieked Claire excitedly. Although you know, she didn’t say pretty flowers... “Yeah whatever... It’s fake anyway...” grumbled Luke jealously. And then they all laughed hysterically, ‘cause that’s what you do when you just almost got killed.
As they did notice this time, they had NO IDEA where to go. So Luke made up some ways to go and all the usual. All was going well, without thinking about where they were, until suddenly, they started to realize the tiny metal dots on the wall. They decided to ignore them. About 5 minutes later, they noticed that the spots were getting bigger, now they were about the size of a nail. They went on normally, if what they always did and said was normal, until they noticed that at the moment, the spikes were the size of a hand. At that point, they thought it was pretty hard to ignore them. “Hmm... those really look real.” said Lucy. And Luke would always answer, “Yeah, well we are pretty advanced with the effects.” although he was starting to get worried. Suddenly, the group felt so nervous about the spikes, that they felt like they couldn’t breathe, and their palms started to sweat. It was like a rubber band was wrapped around the room, squeezing them tighter and tighter, until at some point they would pop. The silence that they held between each other was unbearable. They had went from laughing to strong fear. Even though the gang knew it was fake, all except for Luke, they were really terrified. Suddenly, Doofy tripped on something. It appeared to be a white metal. Soon, the room started closing, and the first thing they thought was ‘RUN!!’. And they did. They ran faster than they ever had. The room was only an inch from closing, but fortunately, Doofy had good eyesight. And because of that, he could see a tiny open in the distance. He said: “Look, over there!” Instantly, they ran even faster than they have been running before. Right when the tunnel was about to close, they made it out! And it was all because of Doofy’s eyesight! “Oh thank god!” they all sighed. Apparently, they had all forgot about the fake pyramid stuff. Sigh. Anyways, they now had a long and wide passage to go through. It was surprisingly clean, considering that it was about 3,000 years old. It had colourful rocks on the walls, and fine sand on the floor. In the distance, there was a two way passage.
“Where do we go?” asked Claire.
“Easy,” said Luke, “Follow me.”
