"Hey, Olive, wake up!" I felt someone shaking me awake, but I didn't want to wake up, I only had a couple more weeks to sleep as long as I wanted before the official first day of my senior year. I needed this, so I kept my eyes closed and pretended to not have heard it, unfortunately for me, I had used that trick one too many times.
"I can hear your breathing changing and your eyelids flutter. I know you're not sleeping." That was my bestfriend Bailey, one of the only people who was sometimes allowed to wake me without me ripping their heads off, but only under special circumstances and real emergencies.
"Go away." I groaned and pulled the cover over my head. If I didn't see her, she wasn't there. Unfortunately for me, that plan didn't seem to work for her as she simply removed the cover off my head and shook me again.
"Wake up." She yelled into my ear, my eyes flickered open and met hers. She smiled, I frowned.
"I curse the day you were born." I said with as much intensity in my eyes as I could pull seeing as I had just woken up. Bailey simply rolled her eyes and pulled the cover on herself, barely leaving me enough to keep warm.
"Yeah, yeah, I get it, you hate being woken up." She said dismissively, her eyes glued on the phone she had in her hand, so I turned on my side and studied her for a moment. She was laying on the bed next to me still wearing the blue skinny jeans and black sweater she had on the previous night which made me think that she either hadn't slept at home, or came in late and slept in her clothes.
"Why did you wake me up, you sleep thief?" I asked and pulled the phone out of her hand when I realized she wouldn't start speaking.
"Hey, I was using that." She complained and tried to get it back, I pushed her hand away.
"And I was peacefully sleeping, but that didn't seem to matter to you, did it?" I asked her and pushed the home button of the phone to check the time. 7:10 A.M. Damn, so freaking early.
I put the phone down on the bed and looked over at her because she still wasn't talking. You would have thought someone who took the time and energy to climb a tree to be able to get into my bedroom through my never locked window, because she obviously had something important to tell me, would have been babbling her little heart out by now.
My brows furrowed as I watched her worry her bottom lip and avoid my eyes. Okay, now I was getting worried. "Are you okay?" I asked and sat on my bed. Bailey nodded and smiled then pushed herself off of her back and onto the same position as me, her back facing my window.
"Olive," she started and then thew her head back and took a deep breath that she released moments later. Bailey could be such a dramatic human being sometimes, and I was getting irritated by her little play she was putting on for me.
"Jesus, Bailey, this isn't Broadway. Either say what you came here to say or get out because I still want to sleep. I was up until three this morning playing Overwatch with Noah. I'm still tired." I told her and waited. Finally, after what felt like a century and a half, she looked at me and said; "Olive, I had sex with Mason last night."
Well, fuck me!
