Natalia sat on the sofa and eyed the whole penthouse. She knew her words cut his heart like a knife, for the first time she saw his pain in his eyes. For the first time she saw the effect of her words on him and she regretted each and every word she said to him now and in past as well that led his heart break zillion times. But She didn't want him to have any hopes from her, she wanted him to know she can never love him.
She heard the sound of door opening and thought Ashton came back but when she turned around she found a beautiful women coming inside with dozen of bags in her hands and a charming smile on her face. Is she Ashton's women?? The only question came to her mind. The women kept the bag on the near by table and faced Natalia with a pleasant smile.
"Hii.. I'm March Paxton Aaron's sister.." She extended her hand and Natalia shook it with a small smile on her face. After few minutes there was silence in the entire room, both sat on the sofa and thought what to converse
"Natalia...." March called her hesitantly
"Yes...." she said in a low voice
"Alright this is awkward..." March said and threw her head back on the sofa and sighed "It's so tough to converse man I'll kill Aaron for handling me such fucked stuff.." March blabberd and listening to her rant Natalia laughed
"Geezzz... your so pretty and your laugh is a melody.. No wonder Ash is head over heels in love with you..." March said excitedly and Natalia's face fell listening to the word love.
March watched her actions and said "I know you don't love him..." Natalia looked at him in shocked "...and I know you love Nick.." March looked her with sympathy and Natalia felt her eyes water
"...but Natalia people gone can never come back instead life goes on and we need to move on" March placed her hand on her hand and squeezed it gently "...just give a try to Ash, he is like a big brother to all of us. He takes care of us when we all forget to take care of ourselves. He may act like an ass but his heart is pure and feelings for you are real..." Natalia opened her mouth to say something but March squeezed her hand telling her to let her complete ".....I know what we all are saying it's difficult for you I understand... what I am trying to say is talk to him.. He will understand" March said with a smile and blinked her eyes to assure her she can trust Ashton. He is worthy.
"Ok.. let's stop this emotional drama... tomorrow is Christmas and Ash said to give you a complete makeover..." March said clapping her hands like a kid but Natalia had some other queries.
She had never celebrated Christmas in her past. She has seen people decorating the Christmas tree, decorating their house, buying gifts for their loved ones and welcoming New Year with open arms but she has just seen those things. In her life she haven't done those she wished she could but she couldn't. But today she has a chance of doing what all the people do. March's words rang in her ears talk to Ashton.
"March can you call Ashton..?? " Natalia asked hesitantly and March smiled
"of course babe... Your being so formal.. We are going to be family... " Natalia was confused with March's last sentence she said but showing away her thought she smiled
March dailed Ashton's number and after two long rings he picked up and barked like an angry lion "Cedric where the hell are you. ??"
"Ash at least check the caller ID before picking up the call.." March said irritatingly
"I'm sorry March I was just upset... " Ash confessed to her like a kid
"No worries brother!!! Natalia wants to talk to you.. I'm passing the phone... " March said and handed the phone to Natalia.
Natalia took a deep breath and talked while March went out of the room just to give a little privacy.
"Hello... " her voice was a melody stuck in his mind since so long that even if he tries his hardest he won't be able to forget it. Unknowingly Natalia's voice sooth his inner turmoil and Mr Cross anger just flew out of the window
"ya... " he said gently. He wished just like all other normal couples he also could call her those cliche name, flirt with her but damn his life story was complicated and different from others
"Ashton I've never celebrated Christmas..." Natalia said slowly in a low voice
"you don't know how to celebrate it... " he asked
"No... "
"Tonight we are going to my house where my parents live.. We will celebrate Christmas with them..." he said as gently as he could
"why...."
"I'm coming in half an hour then I'll explain everything... Till that time buy clothes, go to parlor with March do whatever you both girls wish to.. And yes don't think about money March's gonna pay... " he said and cancelled the call..
He didn't knew he should cry on his condition or pity on Natalia. He wanted to cry cause he so wanted to tell her I'm coming home but the penthouse wasn't their home. It was just a house. He wanted to pity Natalia that poor girl all her life she was away from world's happiness.
March took Natalia with her to few malls bought expensive jewelleries, designer clothes, fashionable shoes, party wears. Natalia just said a no to each and everything March bought but She was March Paxton the stubborn girl ever. When the shopkeeper bought the bill Natalia was about to faint and March laughed on it
"get used to it... Your New York's top businessmen's women..." March said laughingly
"Why is your surname Paxton when Aaron is Silvertone?? " Natalia asked while both the women sat in March's car and headed towards the penthouse
"cause he is my brother from another father... "
"what?? "
March laughed and said "our mother first married Aaron's dad then divorced him and then she remarried my father.. "
"ohk... So she lives with you..."
"Nope... She divorced my dad as well and remarried another guy thankfully she doesn't have kids with him.." March said casually
"I'm sorry if I sound rude or you feel bad why did your mother married so many times.. "
"cause she fell out of love with our fathers.. That's the reason I and Aaron we both don't have any faith in love. And There is no offence in asking Natalia I told you we are going to be family.." March said with a torn smile and stopped the car in front of the building
"ma'am you reached your destination.."
"your not coming..??" she asked
"there Mr Ashton David Cross is waiting for you I think I should leave.." March pointed towards Ashton leaning on his car
"the bags..??"
"tell Mr Cross to pick up he will lovingly do it... "
"I bet he won't..." Natalia joked for the first time
"now I will love to win this bet... " March said and climbed out of the car and waved Ashton to come towards them. Natalia too climbed out
"what is it March...??" said an annoyed Ashton
"we did a lot of shopping and there are many bags so kindly help your women.. " March said in a teasing tone and tight smile
Natalia was afraid when March asked Ashton but then what he did shocked her. He without any word picked all her bags and walked with her in the apartment. March showed a thumbs down to Natalia whereas the people around in the apartment had a shocked open mouth expression on their faces...
A new beginning was about to start...
