I was stretching and walking towards the door to my garden for a night walk. I just couldn't fall asleep tonight.

As I was relieving tension in my shoulder muscles, through the window I suddenly saw a shadow climb up my house and fall flat into the garden. I was caught alarmed.

"Who could it be?" I thought.

I worried that it was a thief and that I should get something to protect me in case I need to fight off that trespasser, but I took trust in my taekwondo skills instead.

I slowly crept for the light switch of the garden and one by one the lights lit up. There I found a girl who was hiding behind a bush but as soon as she saw the lights lit up she was in obvious amazement.

"Oh.. she's harmless right?" I chuckled and confidently went out the door.

I slowly walked towards her, not trying to break her moment of admiring the place.

"Who are you?" I asked in a demanding tone.

She turned around, startled by me. Our eyes met and I established eye contact. I tried to look as sharp, authoritative, and as demanding as ever to her.

"H-hi?" She spoke.

Seriously...?

" 'Hi?' what do you mean by hi? I said who are you and why are you in my house." I repeated.

She simply stared back at me and I soon noticed her bloody arm and tears upon waiting for her answer. She looked decent enough yet why was she here?
I raised my brow at her and examined her from head to toe.

"Hold on." I said.

"I can't endure watching your bloody arm anymore. Come in and explain yourself inside so I could decide whether I should call the cops." I turned around and started walking into my house, expecting her to follow.

I walked to my cupboard to find my first aid kit. I took it and came back to her.

"I'm sorry for not speaking any sooner earlier, I was in a state of shock please understand me. Ill tell you everything truthfully I--"

"Be quiet and sit down. Ill treat your arm." I ordered.

"Oh.." She remembered and immediately obeyed.

I kneeled to get to her level and then started cleansing her arm. I then put some medicine on her wounds, and finished off with a bandage.

I exhaled once my work was done. I stood up and placed the kit on the table as I took a seat on the chair infront of her so we could talk face to face.

"What's your name and how old are you?" I asked.

"Han Erin. 18 years old." She answered.

"Now tell me how you got here." I made her proceed.

Erin

"Now tell me how you got here." The guy told me as soon as he was done treating my arm.

"I'm not a bad person or anything. I'm a decent girl, I receive education and I even work part time. It's just that I... umm there's this man who hurt me with a beer bottle causing this bloody wound on me. So I ran and ran just to escape until I found your place which saved me." I explained preferring not to reveal about my family history.

"Who's this man, is he in any way related to you?" He squinted as he was brought to a questioning thought on me.

"I don't wish to talk about... I mean umm.. no I don't know. It just happened." I stuttered.

"Okay enough." He silenced me for awhile so he could think.

He thought and thought as I was patient enough to give him a moment.

"If you would like to know, I do not intend to stay here any longer. I want to go now." I told him.

"Where will you stay then?" He asked.

"Ne? H-home." I lied.

"I don't think you're safe there though." He smirked trying to get out the truth in me.

"Of course I am safe. Now please lead me to the door I wish to leave now." I said with dignity.

He stood up and went out the door. He gave me a signal to stay for awhile. I waited again for him as I watched everything go on through his window.

No way... is that uncle?!

My eyes widened as I started to panic. He was obviously asking that guy about me. I began to hope that he wouldn't expose me to my uncle as I was at the verge of tears. I saw the guy look back into the house as he checked on me. Upon seeing me, I shook my head pleading him a no. No, he shouldn't tell the truth to my uncle about me being here in his house.

Without any answer, he just turned his back at me and started talking to my uncle again.
"Why are they taking such a long time?" I was worrying.

I watched them again and suddenly saw my uncle barge in the house.

"Oh no... I gotta go!" I started to to look for somewhere to hide.

"Have you seen a 18 yr. old girl around here? She's wearing clothes that seem like she's working at a chicken place. She's been running away and I lost her around here. You didn't take her home did you?" The man who was at my gate asked me.

"No sir. I haven't." I was really bad at lying especially about this case since that Erin girl was still a stranger to me and I didn't know who to trust.

He simply looked at me deeply as I looked back to check on my house. My eyes met Erin's and I could see her on the verge of tears. She shook her head at me and I got what she was all about.

So that I wasn't obvious, I didn't react to what I saw and went back to look at the man I was conversing with.

"I know you're lying." He said.

"I'm not sir. Please go now I haven't encountered a girl around here." I defended.

"Let me in your house." He growled.

"No. Get lost before I call the cops." I demanded.

"Oh it'll be me calling the cops against you once I find Erin here." He kicked my gate open.

"Shit. It's not locked." I cursed under my breath as he kicked my gate and barged in my house.

"YAH!" I yelled.

He didn't pay attention to me and walked in while I started to feel alarmed for Erin. I ran to the man and kept up with his pace when he blasted my door open and went in my house.

"Where is she!? Erin!" He yelled in my house.

"There's no girl here okay? See?" I showed him.

I looked around wondering where she went too when I suddenly saw her running away through my window. She was fast enough to save herself and take the chance to avoid the man.

"She's leaving without saying goodbye now?" I thought.

She passed by the garden and I saw her take one look back before she went running away on her own...

"Please go. Escape well." I wished for her.
