Talk and Understanding

Emma's POV:

It's been a day since we talked and so far, I haven't seen him leave his chamber all day. I never thought I would say this, but I'd rather sit as a pupil and study rather than do nothing at all.

Captain Jones has told me that we are arriving in Tortuga anytime soon, so I decided to eat a vegetable soup, then climbed up to the deck for a fresh air. I've been stuck in his chamber for about two full days, and a new scenario will certainly distract me from what's happening.

Looking in the distance I see land, which I concluded to be Tortuga. I sighed in relief, as my stomach decided to flip again together with my feet still not used to the water.

"Sea legs?" I turned around to see Hoo....Captain Jones tying one of the ropes.

"I'm still not used to it, I guess."

"Give it a few days, you'll get used to it." He answered as he drinks another bottle of rum.

"Will I be going to Tortuga with the crew?" I asked, not wanting to stay here alone. I need to stretch my legs for I feel like it hasn't been used in a month's time.

As if deciding what to do with me, he wrapped his arm in my waist pulling me closer. I tried to put my hands between us, but it only made him tighten his hold.

"Only if you stick by my side." He whispered.

Happy with the answer I received, I stayed in his arms and thanked him. But the moment he said "One night stands are forbidden" I took a step back.

"How dare you accuse me, I'm a pri...  I will not be part of any one night stands, whoever it may involves" I said

I'm angry, not because I want one, I'm angry because he thinks I'm a person whose job is to please men. I'm a princess, not that he knows. Inside I took a deep breath, relieved to say that my secret is not out yet.

"Of course not, but stealing is!?" He answered.

"You knew all along?" I asked dumbfounded.

"Not that hard to solve, after all, you're still wearing the clothing you used to steal from me." He said leaning in one of the rail of his ship.

Suddenly shy with my presence, I looked anywhere but him and asked "I don't have your compass and the other things with me, I left it in my cast.... a cave."

"Didn't I tell you to not lie to me? I can assure you that it won't end well. I can also assure you that I will enjoy removing your garments if you don't give it to me right now." he stood up from the rail and went closer to me.

" Now give it before I do." he finished

"I.. I told you, I left it in..."

"Emma" he shouted as if warning me to not continue my little play.

His way of saying my name left a shiver in me, and the way his deep blue eyes staring at me refused to let me continue my lies. I grabbed the compass and the map and gave it to him.

"The others?" he asked. 'Does he think I stole all of his stuff?' I thought to myself.

If I give him the chest, I would lose the object that is stopping him from getting rid of me. If he has all what I stole, what would he need me for? I don't want to be left here in Tortuga. It's an island of vicious pirates as its other name.

Noticing my pause, he lend out his hand and said "don't do anything stupid and give it to me"

I kicked him where the sun doesn't shine and run to his chamber, where I knew he would follow me. I heard his hurtful groan as he stood on his knees, trying to hold on to the map before it flies away. I didn't want anyone hearing what I will ask from him, so I closed the door behind me.

I sat on his bed, with my knees on my chest holding it tightly.

I'm scared.

He's a pirate and what if he leaves me in Tortuga? Will I ever see my parents again? If ever I see them, they will lock me in my chamber and never let me out again for my recklessness.

The door opened with a loud sound and closed it with such a force that scared me even further.

"What did you do that for?" he demanded.

I refuse to answer him and instead asked "What do you to do to me?"

"Many unforgettable and pleasurable things, but with the stunt that you just pulled, I don't think you'll be getting it..." he rambled.

"I'm being serious Jones. I don't want to... I don't want to be left in a place after you decided you took what you what from me!" I confessed.

"Is that how low you think of me?" He asked.

"You are a pirate."

"That I am" he confirmed.

He turned around to leave, but not before saying "you don't want to be abandoned again."

Shock by his sentence I stood up. "How did you know?" I asked with my croaked voice suddenly  tearing up.

"Open book. You have the same look as someone I knew." he said in a soft voice looking at my green eyes.

"I guess it takes one to know one" staring at his deep blue eyes.

Our conversation stopped as he said "were arriving now, know the things you will need to buy"

He left his chamber and closed the dirt behind him. Letting my tears flow, I whispered 'I'm sorry' to him.

Taking the chest from my pocket, I opened it and surprised with what I saw. I immediately closed it and put it in his desk, where I know he will see it.
