She leaned against the car as James was trying to fix whatever the problem was.
"James..." she looked around, worried. "Can you try and be a little faster?"
"I'm trying, Lilly, I'm trying."
She sighed. She kept glancing around, her hand resting on her gun on the waistband of her dirty jeans. The sound of groans filled her ears and her head snapped to the edge of the forest, but there was nothing there. I think I'm going crazy...
After a few moments of James trying to fix the car and Lilly looking after them, an RV pulled up besides them. An old man wearing a fishing hat stepped out, followed by a young Asian boy.
"It looks like you need some help." he smiled.
"Uh, yes please." James replied.
The man grabbed a box of tools and started working on the car.
"I'm Dale, by the way. Dale Horvath." his voice came muffled.
"I'm Glenn." the boy said. He couldn't be older than twenty five.
"I'm James Jackson, and this is my sister Lilly."
"Hello." she waved.
"Ugh... it looks like there is a hole in the radiator."
"Is it bad?" Lilly asked.
"You can't ride this thing anymore, it's a little dangerous."
She looked at her brother, who wore a worried look.
"But, if you want, you can come with us. I'm heading to Atlanta. I'll give you a ride. They said it was safe. Apparently there is a safe zone there."
They smiled and entered the RV.
She sat at the table, Glenn sitting across from her. James was in the front with Dale.
"Hello." he smiled.
"Hi."
"So..." he started.
"So?"
"What's your story?"
She grimaced a little.
"I have no story. I'm not important."
The boy sighed.
"Everyone is important. Somehow. And everyone has a story. What's yours?"
Lilly looked Glenn in the eyes, pressing her lips together in a thin line.
"I don't know."
"How?"
"What do you mean, how?"
"How can you not know who you are? How are you so lost that you don't even know your own story?"
Lilly sat there dumbfounded by his questions.
"I-I don't..."
"Think about that and tell me later."
He stood up and walked towards the front to talk to Dale when Lilly stopped him.
"Hey Glenn?"
"Yeah?"
"What did you do before all of this?"
He smiled.
"I delivered pizzas."
