When I came to, I was sitting in a chair, my arms tied behind my back and my legs bound together. I took a moment to look at my surroundings. We were in a room that looked like part of an abandoned warehouse. Of course. Why was it always warehouses with demons? I thought.

"Cas?" I heard a voice behind me.

"Val!" I exclaimed. Glad to hear her voice.

"Thank god! Are you okay?"

I was about to answer when I heard footsteps approaching. The door in front of me swung open and in walked a man. He looked perfectly normal. That is, except for the color of his eyes. Pitch black. At that moment I remembered the pocket knife I had stashed in my jeans. I strained, trying to reach it. "Ah, you're awake." He said.

I kept silent.

"Cat got your tongue?" He smirked. "We'll soon fix that." He walked around me to Val. "How about you? Willing to talk?"

"Never," she said. Her voice calm.

"Well Cas, I know hurting you won't achieve anything. Apparently, you would rather die than tell me what I want to know," he said walking back around to face me. "However, I know you care a lot about your little friend here. Val. Will you talk to save her life?"

The demon untied Val's legs and jerked her to her feet. He then proceeded to shackle her to the wall.

" Don't you dare lay a hand on her," I said. My hand made contact with the knife and I pulled it out. I carefully opened it and started to saw through the rope. A second later my wrists were free. But I couldn't get up yet.

"Let's see, what should we try first." The demon said. He walked over to a table and picked up a syringe filled with some kind of black substance."Yes, this will work perfectly." He walked over to Val and before I could protest, he jammed the needle into her arm. Val let out a small gasp and then slumped forward. "I'll leave you to think about your answer," he said. Then, he walked out of the room.

I quickly used the knife to unbind my ankles and shot out of the chair. I ran over to Val and took her pulse. She was alive. I grabbed the key and unlocked the shackles. She fell on me, sending us both to the ground. "Val!" I said as loudly as I could without alerting the demons. I shook her, trying to get her to wake up. "Val!" I said again. She groaned and slowly opened her eyes. "Val, are you okay?" I asked her worriedly.

"I'm fine," she replied. "But we have to get out of here before he gets back."

"Yes," I said. I helped her get to her feet. I spotted a container of salt in one of the corners. Perfect. Many supernatural things can be burned by salt and demons just happen to be one of them. I grabbed the salt and together we walked out the door.
