"So, how exactly do we find him?" I asked.
"I don't know," Val said. "But I know where we might find out. I saw a voodoo shop downtown and the door has Hunter's symbols on it which means it's real magic. Maybe they know something about it."
"Sure. Let's give it a try. I mean, what do we have to lose?"
1:00 pm
"You want to summon Azrael?" the girl at the counter asked incredulously. She was dressed in all black and bore a nametag that read 'Calliope'.
"Yes. We were hoping you could help. We're Hunters." Val explained.
"I figured as much. But summoning an Archangel is no easy task. It requires a ritual which, if done the wrong way could result in your deaths. Are you sure you want to do this?" Calliope asked.
"Positive," I said.
"Okay, I'll help you," she said, emerging from behind the counter. "But we can't do this now. Meet me at the crossroads just outside of town at 11pm tonight. I'll bring everything."
"Thank you," Val said as we left the shop.
11:00 pm
The sky was dark when we pulled up at the crossroads. The stars were masked by the clouds of a oncoming storm. Perfect weather for a summoning. We walked toward Calliope who was leaning against the hood of her car, black duffle in hand.
"Let's do this," she said. She walked over to the center of the crossroads and dropped the duffle on the ground. Unzipping it, she pulled out a cloth bag and tossed it to Ruby. "Ashwood powder," she told us. "Use it to draw an eight-rayed star with an arrow at each point."
While we did this, Calliope pulled out a metal bowl and proceeded to put different ingredients in it and placed it at the center of the star. She had us put a candle at each point and then spread Ashwood in a circle around everything. Then, she led us over to her car.
"I have done what I can. You two have to finish the ritual," she handed us a piece of paper. "When you're ready, say this and throw a match in the bowl. This opens a doorway so, whatever you do, don't step out of the circle until he's gone. If you do, Azrael might not be the only thing you pull through. Good luck."
Before I could say another word, she was in her car and driving away.
