Omniscient
Saturday had finally came and Payton was fully dressed and ready to go. Looking through the mirror in her bathroom, she slid her black beanie on and coated her lips with red lip stick.
She made sure to take a nap earlier that day, cuz who knows what time they'll be leaving the party.
Cutting the bathroom light off, Payton picked up her purse and slid on her shades. At the same time, her doorbell rings.
"Right on time," Payton greeted as she opened the door.
Aaron licked his lips and smiled at her appearance. "I see you tryna steal my look," he smirked, pulling her shades off to see her eyes.
Payton chuckled and took them back. "No. I just look better in them than you do," she teased, sliding them back on.
"Whateva'. Com'on," Aaron said, slapping her exposed leg before walking to his car.
Payton turned the lights off and locked up before getting in the passenger seat. After buckling up, she looked over at the radio and scrunched up her face. She proceeded to change the station, but Aaron slapped her hand away.
"Don't touch my shit," he glared at her for a second before turning his attention back to the rode.
"But I don't like listening to lil'-"
"Deal wit' it."
"Deal wit' it," she lowly mimicked, crossing her arms and looking out her window.
Aaron for sure heard it and grabbed ahold of her face. "Don't play wit' me," he warned.
Payton chuckled and removed his hand. She looked down at her phone screen, seeing a message pop up.
Kelly🙄 (10:07 pm)- Y'all here yet?
Payton (10:08 pm)- Nope. On our way.
Finally pulling up to the party. Aaron parked his car by the curb and got out. Payton closed her door and was mesmerized by how big the house was. It wasn't a mansion, but it sure did look like one.
"Walk," Aaron said as he placed his hand on her back and pushed her along. They both approached the big, bald-headed bouncer that stood in front of the door.
"Names?" He looked between the two, as he lifted the clipboard up. Payton was about to open her mouth to speak, but Aaron answered for her. The guard scanned through a couple sheets before nodding. "A'ight," he authorized, stepping aside.
"After you," Aaron gestured for Payton to go in first as he pulled open the wrought iron door.
She gave him a warm smile, which soon dropped, as her stomach started to feel a bit queasy inside. She mentally panicked about how underdressed she was, as she looked around the room at everyone who was wearing either a classy dress or suit.
She wasn't the only one that didn't get the memo. Either way, Aaron couldn't careless about the attire for the party. He only came to turn up and get free drinks.
Payton's eyes searched around for Kelly and Darius as she kept up with Aaron's pace through the crowd. She'd gotten a few dirty looks as she brushed pass a couple people. But it didn't bother her though, since she sees them as a bunch of self-centered narcissists.
