"This year is going to be great!" I thought to myself as getting ready. It was the first day back from summer break and I am starting Sophomore year. This year was the year things would be different. I was no longer the "fresh meat". I could make the Junior Varsity volleyball team instead of being on the freshmen one. Maybe this year I can make varsity softball since I over shined the jv team last year. But the best thing about this year is I am finally getting my drivers license,
something I have been dreaming of since 6th grade. Sophomore year.
"MACKENZIE," I hear come from downstairs, "Hurry up or your gonna miss your bus!"
"That's kinda the point mom!" I yell back in return. My family doesn't seem to understand I HATE riding the bus. Not only do the kids in the back do pot but the only girl you know who sits back there, gives blow jobs. YUCK! The sad thing is I'm smarter than all of them combined.
I finished curling my long brown hair and put on my concealer and a small bit of mascara. Once my hair and face look perfect, I ran back to my room to find the best outfit for the first day. "Nope, nah, gross, ugh why isn't there anything," I growl as I flip through my closet. Then I find it. The one dress I got over summer break. It's white with pink and orange flowers, strapless, and perfect. I throw that on and grab a brown pair of sandals and take a final look in your mirror. I look absolutely stunning.
I grab my bag and run down the stairs to eat some breakfast. "You are gonna have to start getting ready sooner. I can't keep driving you to school, I have a job you know," my mom goes on as you continue to eat your bowl of cereal. "Well in 6 and a half months you won't have to," I joke back at her. Technically I am still 15 but in 2 weeks my friends are throwing my sweet 16 and I am super siked!
"Hurry up missy!" My mom screams as I am finishing my bowl of cereal. "Mom, I'm fine. I still got..." I turn and look at the clock on the stove, " NO TIME! ITS 7:15! THE BUS COMES IN ONE MINUTE AND I HAVE TO RUN DOWN THE DRIVEWAY. I GOTTA GO BYE!" I scream as I'm running out the front door. Oh no oh no oh here comes the bus and I'm not halfway yet, I'm screwed. I gave up and went into a walk, they can wait for me.
I hope on the bus and sit next to my friend, Nathan. "When can you start driving me so I can get out of here?" I say with I serious face. "Well hi to you too. Yes I had a great time over summer break thanks for asking," he says while laughing. "Not amused," I said as rolling my eyes. All Nathan does is chuckle at me.
