I was in a dark room. The only thing I could hear was my heartbeat, the only thing I could feel was the cold, the only thing I could see was nothing, not even myself. Then a small ball of light appeared. It wasn't big, just about the size of a fist, but it was shining like a star. If you were to look closely, it was glowing both white and violet."Evie..." it called out to me, as if it was trying to make me follow it, and started to move away. I wanted to follow, but it felt like my feet we stuck in concrete. The light kept moving, as I unwillingly kept still.
"Evie..."
"Evie..."
"MS. ROMAN!"
I almost sprang out of my seat. Everyone in the classroom was looking at me, laughing. The only one's who weren't laughing were the teacher, and the boy in the front who is always reading some sort of book, and the girl in the back who never speaks. However the teacher was giving me the 'Hairy Eyeball' as I call it, for sleeping in class, again. Right before he was going to shout his lungs off, the school bell rang, signalling it was time to go home. "Saved by the bell..." I mumbled to myself as I left the classroom. Not that anyone heard, or cared.
Now, I'm pretty sure a lot of you are confused, so let me start from the beginning. My name is Evie Selene Roman. I must seem like a normal girl to you right now, don't I? Well, you're right, I am, kinda. I may be normal, but I'm not ordinary. I don't care about boys, or romance, or fashion, or how I look at all, really. The only thing I really care about... is games.
Video games, to be exact. I don't know why, or how, but I always feel some sort of connection to games I play. In games, you can be whoever you want, carve your own journey, be somebody. At least, thats how I feel about it. Other people I've met seem to disagree, saying that "they rot your brains!" or "they get in the way of your potential!" or something like that. I don't really listen to them, because I know that they're wrong.
Anyway, back to the story. I walked into my house, seeing my mum doing a yoga exercise in the living room. She didn't see me come in, so I just went upstairs into my bedroom. Our house wasn't the biggest in the town, or even the street, but it was just big enough for the two of use. It had a bathroom, a kitchen, a living room, a dining room, a small study area, and two bedrooms. Well, really it's only supposed to have one bedroom, but I didn't really feel like being roommates with my mum, so I just sleep in the attic.
After a wile, my mum called me down for dinner. I dragged myself down the stairs, and sat at the table, a plate full of steak, mash potatoes and vegetables in front of me. For awhile, we ate in silence, until she spoke up. "So... how was school, sweetie?" I just shrugged, not bothering to verbally answer. I didn't talk to her much, because I was always closer to my dad. But I he's gone, and I can't ever see him again.
She looked at me with sympathy. "Evie, I know you're still upset, but it's been two years. You can't let what happened affect you now, otherwise you won't be able to make any friends!" "Why?" I said back, taking a small bite out of my steak. "It's not like anyone wants to be friends with me anyway..." I finished my meal, and, without a word, left the table and went back to my room.
I flopped back down on my bed and pulled out my 3DS. It had a copy of the new Pokemon Moon game. I had to save up all of the money I earn just to get my hands on this. If any game was a 9, for me, anything in the Pokemon franchise would be a 10. The storyline, the music, the battle, the uniqueness, the whole thing. It drags me into a world where I don't need to worry about anything, a world where my fear doesn't exist, a world where I could be me. After beating the Elite 4, I turned off the 3DS and fell asleep.
Yep, I was just ordinary...
But I didn't know that wasn't going to last...***
I decided to post a story on Pokemon. Specifically my journey in Pokemon Moon, one of my favourite new Pokemon games. I just came up with this overnight, so don't hate me if the intro sucks. It'll get better, I promise.
By for now, guys!
