*Author's Note: I'm going to make my chapters longer because I feel they are pretty short in my previous stories... Happy reading!*

The last thing Snowpaw saw were the claws of the Badger. They slashed his eyes and then he was left alone in a black hole of emptiness. He never really saw anything in his life, except that split second of the ambush. He cursed Starclan, for it was their fault! They could've protected him.

Fawnpaw, Snowpaw's sister, was leaping around him as he stumbled clumsily without sight.
"You're gonna suck at everything!" she taunted, leaping at him and nipping his ankles.
"Cut it out!" he wailed.
"Whimp! You're going to be a horrible warrior! You're a failure," she lashed at him with unsheathed claws. His cheek was now bleeding.
He ran to his mother.
"Go play with Fawnpaw. You're not a kit and not my problem anymore," she hissed as soon as he reached her.
"Redleaf! Please," he begged, nuzzling up to her.
"Get off me, you filthy beast!" she hit him over the ears with her tail, stalking off to the fresh-kill pile.
Why doesn't anyone care about me?
But then, maybe some cats do.

He looked over to Pondleap, the medicine cat. She was staring back at him, her eyes narrow, but full of sympathy. She flicked her tail for him to come over, but of course he couldn't see. He padded over anyway. She wrapped her tail around him.
"Maybe you should face your destiny and become a medicine cat," she murmured. Snowpaw leapt away from her, fur bristling.
"There is no way in Starclan that I would ever do that! I was born to be a warrior, but Starclan took my chance and I will prove to them I am worthy," he lashed his tail, "but I will always help you with sorting herbs and finding them," he added a little gently.
She chuckled, flicking him over the ears with her tail, softly.

I'm a failure, I'm blind and half deaf, how could I ever be a warrior?

"Calm down, little one," Pondleap had a skill. It was using others' body actions to know how they felt.
"Stop!" he leapt away from her, shaking his fur.
"I know the struggle," she sighed. She had a distant look in her eyes.
"No, you don't," he retorted.

I don't think anyone does.

Snowpaw padded down the ravine, desperate to get away from Sunclan.

He stopped as he felt his paws burn. He was on hot stone. Adderrocks.

He shrugged, and kept on walking. But then he heard the rattle of the end of a snake's tail. And slithering. He froze. A vine-like creature slithered up his leg. But he was frozen with terror. It got tighter and tighter. He could feel its tongue against his fur, tasting the air to figure out what prey it had caught. But he couldn't move.

Please don't bite me.
