Lucas
I sat down at the dinner table next to my mom. My two twin sisters, Lily and Lucy, and their mates also sat with us. We were eating pizza, again. Unlike me, my sisters had already found their mates, Jacob and William. We always joked that they were destined to be brothers-in law because their names were like the brothers Jacob and William Grimm.
My sisters both had green eyes like me but they had my moms blonde hair while I was stuck with my fathers dark brown hair. Jacob had blue eyes and, like his mate Lucy, blonde hair. William however, had black hair and grey eyes that Lily called 'as stormy as a sea'.
Speaking of mates, I hadn't found my mate yet and I was beginning think she might not exist because honestly, who would want a guy like me to be their mate. I knew I was handsome, and my mom said I had the kindest heart she'd ever met. However, I was also the weakest rank of the pack, which technically that made me the lowest of the low. Suddenly I realized my mom was asking me a question and I snapped out of my thoughts.
"So Lucas, how was your day?" My mom asked, her voice as gentle as always.
"It was pretty good," I replied, my words a lie. She didn't need to know that though, I didn't want to worry her anymore than she had already been. My mom smiled but I saw the worry clouded in her eyes. After a moment she turned back towards my sisters.
