Lucas
'Omega.' Alpha Jackson commanded over the pack link. 'Get over here!' At his words, Lucas quickly ran over to where he sensed my alpha was, not wishing to get into trouble. He walked quietly into the alphas office, waiting for a second before the alpha motioned for him to sit at one of the chairs.
"Omega, you will be going to go to the annual omega meeting because the omega we usually send is in the infirmary." Alpha Jackson explained as Lucas nodded, thinking quickly. The omega meeting was a yearly meeting where each pack would send one omega. The official reason was so that different members of all the packs could talk and befriend each other but the omegas all thought of it like a vacation from getting beatings and having to be a servant. The meetings were always held at the royal palace.
"Go pack your bags and say good bye to your family, you will be leaving in a hour." Alpha Jackson said after a moment before motioning for Lucas to leave.
He immediately ran to the little cabin that his mom and him lived at, walking through the front doors while grinning like a mad man.
"Why are you so happy all of a sudden?" She said, her hands on her hips although there was a bright smile on her face.
"I get to go to the omega meeting!" Lucas exclaimed happily, "we are leaving in an hour so I have to pack quickly." His mothers smile got larger and she quickly walked over as the two of them hugged.
"Gosh Lucas, I'm so proud of you!" She said after a moment. "Now quickly, go pack up before they decide to leave you!" Lucas grinned, kissing her on the cheek before racing up the stairs to his room. He grabbed a suitcase and placed it on his bed as he quickly started packing all that he could fit inside his bag. When he was done he changed his clothes into something a bit more presentable before racing back down the stairs.
"Bye mom, see you in a while!" He yelled as he raced out the door, not wanting to be late.
You could have at least given her one last hug or something, jeez. Lucas's wolf, Kaden, scolded him. He didn't listen, though, and continued on his way.
The beta and his mate were already at the pack house garage when he arrived so he quickly put his bag into the back of the van before getting in as well.
Luke, the beta, was going to be driving. He had found his mate, Sarah, two years ago when he was checking the pack borders. Sarah had been all alone, half starved and almost frozen because it was in the middle of winter. She was beautiful. Long bright ginger hair, freckles dotted across her face, and sparkly green eyes that sparkled when she smiled.
Luke started the car and it jolted Lucas out of his thoughts. The ride was only a day to the Royal Palace since that was where the meeting was so I closed my eyes and took a nap.
