Olivia wakes up to the sun peeking through the curtains in their hotel room and it takes a moment for her orient herself. Elliot is still sleeping peacefully, an arm wrapped around her waist holding her close to him, even in his deep sleep. She feels a twinge as she opens her eyes that lets her know she overdid it just a little bit with the wine last night, although she could have told you that as soon as she realized she was naked in bed with Elliot.
For years she's thought about the last time that she woke up next to him, and how she didn't know it would be the last time, how she wishes she had stayed just a moment longer. So this is what she does.
She closes her eyes again, snuggling back into her spot on Elliot's chest, comforted by the warm emanating from his body and the weight of his arm around her. She knows they can't continue on like this, not with so much at stake, but she's decided to allow herself this moment.
As she lays there, listening to him breathe, she thinks about the weeks and months they have ahead of them. So full of uncertainty. But an odd sense of peace has settled over her. All she's ever wanted was for her daughter to know her father and now she will.
Elliot stirs in his sleep and she watches him contentedly as he opens his eyes. As he begins to wake up and open his eyes, the first they focus on, is a smiling Olivia and he silently thanks God.
"Never thought I'd get to wake up next you again..." He says his voice full of sleep. He pulls her closer for a gentle kiss and she leans up to meet him. God, she knows she shouldn't but she can't make herself pull her lips away from his.
They had went round and round into the early hours of the morning and it had satisfied a need that had gone unfulfilled for over a decade. Olivia had gotten used to the way it felt to be with him, and after he had left, in the relationships she'd had, nothing had ever come close.
Olivia knows she's not a small woman, she stands about five foot eight and she's well muscled from years of the physical demands of her work, and that fact has never bothered her. But Elliot makes her feel small, he always has. And last night he had tossed her around with ease, seemingly even stronger than he was a decade ago. She's never liked the idea that a man could over power her, but with Elliot, everything is different. He would never harm her, and the way he had picked her up last night with such ease and tossed her into bed had made her melt.
Elliot grabs her by her hips, pulling her the rest of the way on top of him, her legs resting on either side of him. Maybe she'll allow herself this too. What could one more time hurt?
"Again?" She teases.
"It's been twelve years, Liv... Forgive me if I can't get enough of you..." He whispers in between kisses down her neck. When the two finally fall apart, sweaty and out of breath hours later, Olivia glances at the clock and groans.
"The kids are awake, I didn't mean to stay this long..." She says tiredly, pushing herself out of bed.
"Well, if they're already awake, breakfast and coffee won't hurt at all then." Elliot says, giving her a quick kiss on the lips before slipping on his boxers and disappearing to order breakfast. Olivia smiles softly as she plucks his button up off the floor and slips it over her arms, buttoning only the two middle buttons.
He grins as he walks back into the room. He almost can't believe his eyes. Olivia sits, legs crossed on the bed, leaning back on her hands as she watches him, her makeup's almost completely worn off and her hair is mess, but she has a content smile on her face as she sits in his shirt and absolutely nothing else. "Looks so much better on you, than it does me..." He says, pulling her into another kiss. They had spent all night and into the early hours of the morning tangled up in each other, and he is still struck by how beautiful Olivia has become.
