-------------Lucy's POV----------------

I twiddled with my spoon, which drifted aimlessly in my bold coffee. Taking a sip, I sighed and placed my hand on my forehead, trying to comfort my throbbing headache. Natsu sat to the right of me, while Wendy to the left, them both being verbally engaged in an argument on who's dragon parent was better. Gray sat at the bar, speaking both quietly and severely to Mirajane. Huh, must've been pretty important. A sudden burst of cold erupted through my body, and I turned back to see Gray blushing, his gaze avoiding mine. Mirajane broke out in laughter, pausing only to wipe a tear from her face. My face turned a crimson red, and I focused once again on my coffee, staring at the deep swirls, twisting and bending to create beautiful designs. Captivating, really. Natsu waved a hand in front of my face desperately, trying to get my attention. I sighed and looked at him.

"Are you even listening?" He asked, his jaw clenched tightly. I shook my head 'no' and heard a small chuckle from Wendy. "Anyways, Lucy, what I was getting at is, why are you so pale today?" He cocked his head, a crooked grin on his face.

"I don't know, I guess I'm just cold." I tucked a piece of golden blonde hair behind my ear tentatively, and Natsu broke out into a slow, evil smirk.

"I can fix that for you!" I waved my hands out to tell him not to touch me. His hand lit on fire, and Natsu started towards me, the evilest grin peeled at his lips. "I promise it won't hurt," Natsu paused, "much." The flame was only a few inches from my face, and I only had one option, Lucy-Kick. I kicked him as hard as I could, sending him flying into Elfman who shouted something about a real man.

"Now leave me alone Natsu," I growled, grasping my coffee cup and heading over to Erza, who sat at the bar, about five chairs away from Gray.

"Boy issues?" Erza teased, making my face burn an even brighter red.

"No, Natsu's an idiot that's all," I replied, sipping carefully at my coffee.

"That's not who I'm talking about." Erza bit out of her cake, and I choked, coffee coming out of my nose and mouth. Trust me, not pleasant.

"Gray?" Erza nodded intently, her gaze fixed on Natsu and Gray, who had for some reason started to brawl. Gray was naked, wait, nevermind, he had his underwear on. "I don't know, I mean he's cute, and I really like him.." There went the underwear. "But, I don't think he likes me back."

"Oh, he does," she chuckled, ducking underneath another flying object.

"How?.." Erza put her finger up to silence me, and took another bite of her cake.

"Do you not see the way he looks at you?" Come to think of it, was he staring at me when I felt that coldness? I shook the thought, and glanced at my watch, seeing it was pretty late.

"Well, I'd better get home."  I stood up and left the Guildhall, leaving the two idiotic boys to fight it out.

As I pranced slightly on the edge of the river, the men as usual called, "Don't fall, Lucy!" I smiled and waved at them, "I won't!" Suddenly, my feet slipped on some wet cement or something and I was sure I was going to get pneumonia, but my butt hit something hard. A small gasp found its way to my lips when I saw that the lake was now a frozen paradise. I stood up, my head ramming into something, making me rub it in pain. Glancing up, I saw Gray affectionately looking down at me.

"Don't you ever heed people's warnings?" He held out his hand, and I took it. I shivered a bit because, as usual, it sent shivers down my spine, causing my whole body to tingle. When I stood up we were face-to-face, and I could feel his breath against me as we stood there, in the cold. Gray smelt of creamy hot chocolate, with a hint of sweet marshmallows floating on top. His face peeled back into a grin, and he pulled my body closer to his. He tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. I did everything in my power not to strap Gray down right then and there. He gave me another heart-melting smile, and leaned in close, his lips barely grazing my ear. "Do you have any plans tonight?" He whispered, tickling my ear with his soft tone.

"Uh, no but, I could...if you want me to." Smooth, real smooth, Lucy. He grinned mischievously, and grabbed my hands. I pulled back a little uncertain, my palms were unbelievably sweaty, I couldn't let him touch them, not right now.

"Here, put this on." He held out a blue bandana. I gave him a puzzled look, and put it on. His cold hands pressured on my back as he led me to a place unknown to anyone but him. Gray's warm breath whispered in my ear, "Okay, we're here, you can open your eyes now."

He untied the bandana, leaving my eyes to adjust to the darkness. My hand went to my mouth, covering the biggest gasp I'd ever attempted. "My God, Gray..."

"What?" His eyes laughed at me, and I hugged him. He seemed surprised at first, but he let it happen. In front of us stood a gargantuan castle, made completely of ice. Swirls of designs etched the outside, and the door was swung open, practically inviting us in.

"How did you even find time to do this?" I breathed, and Gray laughed.

He led me to the castle, his eyes twinkling eagerly. "A magician never shares his tricks."

--------------Gray's POV--------------

Wow, Lucy Heartfilia, hottest girl I have ever met. I've loved her ever since I laid my eyes on her, but I've been too scared to get rejected. Now, her eyes were as wide as golf balls as she explored the castle with curiosity. Lucy giggled, racing up the ice stairs, making a smile twitch at my lips.

"So, is this a date, or what?" I called up the stairs to the childish girl, who was examining an ice fountain that was in the middle of the room.

She leaned over the edge of the railing, and smiled, her blinding white teeth shining proudly. "Well, of course!" Lucy raced down the stairs, jumping into my arms, and wrapping her arms around my body.

"Is it okay if I do?...this?" I leaned in, and put my mouth against hers, my teeth chewing absently against her bottom lip. I sneakily slinked my tongue into her mouth, and she let out a small, adorable gasp. I let go, and Lucy stared up at me with disappointment.

"Did I do something wrong?" Lucy pondered, her voice turning coated with desperation.

"No, no, I just want to show you something." I grinned at her, "But you can't peak." I turned and started using my Ice Demon Slayer magic to make a beautiful heart that wouldn't ever melt or break. I turned back and gave it to her, "Here." She gasped.

Lucy pricked the heart with her finger momentarily, before wrenching it away, afraid to harm it. "Well? Take it, it won't ever melt, consider it something to help you remember me by."

"Gray, it's gorgeous," she breathed softly, taking it slowly, and coddling it in her arms.

"You deserve the best." I looked up at the starred sky, and smiled. "Did you know, that with every little star comes an epic tale, that takes eons to explain?"

"What do you mean?" Lucy asked, her face contorted with confusion.

"It means, my dear princess, that the stars who shine the brightest, have the most amazing stories."

I picked up the pace, and showed Lucy her room, letting her settle in before getting in the bed myself. The roofless castle shone with the stars above me, and I let one final smile reach my lips.

Lucy's would be the brightest of them all.
