----------Gray's POV-----------
Later that night, I had gently moved Lucy out of the castle before it melted, only to realize when I awoke, she was gone. I grasped my necklace tightly in my palm, unwillingly going into a flashback.
"Gray, we have to keep moving," muttered a white haired male, his eyes dangerously slitted.
"You don't think I know that, Lyon," I growled back coldly, holding the necklace Uru had given me. "But we can't just leave her here.
Lyon bit his lip before grasping my arm. "What other choice do we have?"
I shook the subtle memory away, and made my way to the Guildhall. When I pushed the doors open, the first thing I noticed was Gramps' icy gaze cutting into my skin like a sharp blade.
"Gray, where have you been?" Makarov asked quietly, his voice low and dangerous.
"Was I needed or something?" I glared up at him with challenge in my gaze.
"Yeah, today was Juvia's Birthday, and you missed it," Makarov snarled. "Do you have any idea how mortified she was?"
Great, all I need to think about was that obsessed woman right now. "Gramps, I don't care, I had something to do, so back off." My lip curled into a sneer before turning tail and leaving the Guildhall. Natsu and Lucy sat by the water, Lucy dangled her feet over, kicking them with amusement. Natsu leaned over to her ear, and whispered something, making Lucy giggle. I stalked over slowly, my hand clenching into a fist, and when Natsu turned, I struck him in the face, causing blood to spurt out of his nose.
"What the hell Gray, why'd you do that?!" He smeared the blood off his face, and glared at me, his fists turning ablaze.
"Maybe because I felt like it, Flame Brain," I sneered, my lip curling back into an ugly expression. Lucy's face had gone quite pale as she bit her lip nervously. "Come on, Lu, let's go have a drink." She nodded, swinging up happily. "Besides, you don't need to be hanging out with a dumbass like that."
Natsu's eyes narrowed as he sprung forwards, planting clumsy strikes which were easy enough to avoid.
"Uh? Gray?" Lucy squeaked from behind me, covering her eyes as she spoke.
"Yeah, Lu?" I replied.
"Your clothes..." I looked down, and my underwear were off again.
"What the--!" Natsu spun my underwear around his finger mischievously, that had been his plan the whole time, to get my underwear. The little shit. I sprung at him, grabbing my underwear, and kicking him in the side, causing a rib or two to crack.
"What the fuck, Gray?" He snarled, before limping into the Guildhall.
Lucy's eyes were wide as watermelons as she watched the weakened Natsu limp away. "Gray, you didn't have to kick him. We were just talking."
My eyes narrowed, "Yeah, sure, I'll be in the guildhall if you need me." When I walked in I felt my face burning with betrayal, had last night meant nothing to her? I sat down next to Erza, ready to get boozed.
---------Natsu's POV----------
I winced as Wendy used her spell to crack my bones back into place, it hurt like a bitch. Damn it Gray, why do you always have to start unnecessary fights?
"Hold still," Wendy commanded sourly, cracking another rib into place.
"Sorry, Miss Wendy," I cooed sarcastically, earning a glare from her.
Wendy cracked one more rib into place before pushing me off the table, causing me to hit the floor, hard. "There, all done." She beamed innocently, and I groaned, getting off the floor.
"Thanks a lot," I replied, rolling my eyes at my now aching back. Lucy sat at a table alone, her caramel eyes swimming with an emotion I couldn't put my finger on. Frowning, I started over to her, and sat down next to her.
"How you doing?" I asked, my voice low.
Lucy's caramel brown eyes shot up with excitement, before dulling down into sadness once again. "Please, just leave me alone, Natsu."
My lip twitched eagerly, I wanted to assure her it was okay, that I was there for her, but I couldn't do that. Never. "Fine, if that's what you really---" She cut me off shortly by pulling me into a hug, the scent of strawberries tickling my nose.
"I don't know what to do, Natsu," Lucy whispered, her breath warm against my chest.
My gaze softened, and I rubbed her back reassuringly. "Do whatever you want, Lucy."
Lucy sniffled a couple more times before shifting her gaze to meet mine. "I wish you could understand, Natsu."
She got up and left the Guildhall, me gaping after her in confusion. I can't understand? Well that makes me feel better.
"She loooves you!" A high-pitched voice cooed from behind me, making me turn, my face burning red.
"Shut up, Happy!" I growled, tackling him to the ground, and Happy laugh-cried.
---------Gray's POV----------
"Oh God," I groaned, holding my forehead between my knees.
Erza laughed, hitting my back with a great force, making me want to throw up even more. "Come on, Gray, this isn't your first hangover!"
I bit my lip, and tried to calm my swimming insides. "That doesn't mean it doesn't suck any less."
After a few minutes, I recollected myself. Getting up off the stool, I glanced around for her, she wasn't in the Guildhall, so maybe she'd went home. I pushed the guild doors open, and started down the street to her apartment. Knocking on the door, I waited for a response, but for about five minutes there was silence. Sighing, I pushed the door open, and walked into her room, glancing around. Her journal sat scattered against the desk, the pages neatly scribbled in small, almost invisible lines. My hand twitched anxiously, I wanted to read it so badly. Sighing, I walked over to it, and closed the leathery book. I sighed, exploring her apartment, but to little avail. I stopped by her bathroom door, my hand resting on the knob. Well, if she's in here at least I'll know she's okay...
I turned the knob to see Lucy covering her body, and her face burning a bright crimson. She was in the bath.
