Becca's POV
---
I pulled into the Pinkmans' driveway before knocking on the door. Jesse opened it with a smile. "Hi,"
"Hello." He stepped to the side and let me in. "So mom cooked dinner if you're hungry, you can just eat with us." Mrs. Pinkman walked into the room.
"Oh, yes," she exclaimed. "We'd love for you to have dinner with us!"
"Well, if you insist," I nodded and smiled. "Thank you."
We went up to Jesse's room and I sat my bag on the floor, fishing for the homework before pulling it from the bag.
"So, Mr. Gage's stuff first?" Jesse asked. I nodded and opened the math textbook.
I was always okay in math, but I was always better in literature.
We studied for about an hour before taking a study break. I leaned my head on the headboard of the bed (which we were sitting on and studying, much comfier than the floor) and let out a soft sigh. "So, my parents want you to come over for dinner sometime," I sat back up. "Surprising, I know."
"Well, only if they want me to, and only if you cook so I know I'm not being poisoned." He smiled.
"Jesse!" I laughed, leaning on his shoulder. He rested his head on mine before he looked over at me, placing his hand on my cheek. He looked from my eyes to my lips and I turned away. "So, now that we're done with math, is there anything else?"
"I think there's some English but I'm not sure," he answered, still staring at me.
I searched through my notes for a homework assignment I might've written but I didn't find anything. We put the math homework away before Mrs. Pinkman called us down for dinner.
After dinner, I thanked her for the meal and grabbed my bag before walking out to the car. Jesse followed.
I leaned against the side as he came closer to me, grabbing my face and kissing me. I was surprised at first, but I kissed him back. After a few seconds, he pulled away but kept his hands there. "I love you, Rebecca White." (A/N: I JUST REALIZED THE OPPOSITE OF WHITE IS BLACK SO OH NO BAD CHOICE OF NAMES)
"I love you, Jesse Pinkman." He smiled and let his hands fall to his sides. I got in the car and he walked inside and drove back home. And for the first time, I didn't spend the night.
---
My alarm went off at 5:30 am. "PERFECT," I groaned loudly, smacking the clock with my hand. I got up and got ready before I got a phone call.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Hey, can you give me a ride?" Jesse asked sleepily, sounding like he hadn't fully woken up yet.
"Yeah sure, I'll be there in a few." I hung up and slipped a pair of black converse on and grabbed my bag before heading out the door.
Of course, when I arrived at Jesse's, he wasn't ready. So I waited outside. I had my window rolled down and I heard honking. I looked in the rearview to see Badger and Pete. "Yo! Wanna race?" He laughed.
"No! I would beat you any day!"
Jesse came out and got into the passenger side and Badger and Pete left.
"So, how are you?" I asked.
"Good, and you?"
"Great."
We got to school, another boring day. Had to go to work. Another boring place, but it wasn't so bad when Gus was there.
I decided to go look for a dress when I got off. I have this bad habit of looking forward to things and getting excited before they get canceled. So I try not to get so excited.
I grabbed my car keys and exited the restaurant, taking off my hat.
I drove to the nearest dress shop and was browsing around when an employee came up to me. "Let me guess, sweetheart, you're looking for a prom dress?" He asked in a sweet tone.
"Yes, sir," I smiled.
"Great! Follow me,"
I followed him into a separate room that had tons and tons of dresses. He asked my size, and I told him, so he showed me to the dresses I could try on.
I didn't want anything super bright, but not super dark. I didn't want anything with jewels that would be too flashy.
Finally, he showed me a silky gown in a maroon color. It was absolutely stunning, and so I decided to try it on.
The top of the dress came up to my collar bones and hugged all the right places. The back dipped just enough so that it was comfortable, but my hair would cover it. The simplicity was elegant and striking. It wasn't entirely my personality, but it was. It was perfect.
I decided to go with that one and made the purchase. But I wouldn't let Jesse see it before Prom.
