The room is so small that I feel caged in. There's a huge glass mirror where they watching me from, but of course I can't see them, they can only see me. There's hardly any light in the room which is also a technique they use to wear us down. The darker the room, the darker one feels maybe. After all, light means life and goodness and from where I'm sitting Im going to need that.  I look down to the handcuffs that I'm in and the only thing that crosses my mind is the reason why I'm in here. What the fuck did I get myself caught in.

After a while being left on my own in the room, two male detectives walks in. The one older looking man glances my way as he sits down. He looks mid-forties with a cheap black suit and bags under his eyes. The younger man I know all too well, his been an undercover cop pretending to be a student for the last few months at my school. His luscious black hair, hazel eyes and flirtatious smile got the best of me, but I never make the same mistake twice.

"Ms Corden.." The old man drags out.

I've watched enough CSI and Law and Order to know not to say anything without my lawyer present. The fact that I'm a minor also pays off. I don't say a word but continue to stare them down bluntly.

"Brooklyn, it's better if you tell us what you know now. " The younger man says and his voice captures my attention.

I roll my eyes at him in annoyance.

He brushes his fingers through his hair, which he always did whenever he felt agitated or angry.

"Ms Corden we know about everything." The older man adds.

I raise my eyebrow with my lips pursed. "Mm.. If you know everything then do you know the reason to my mother's death?"

Both of them widen their eyes in shock because they didn't expect my question to be based on my mother's murder but to be related to the case. "See.. You don't know everything."

"Trying to be the smartest person in the room, isn't gong to work in your favor." The younger man says harshly.

"We both know that I don't try, I'm talented at everything I do. You of all people know it." I softly say with sarcasm evident.

He flinches at my remark and stares me down, indicating not to say anything about what happened. The older man seems slightly confused at what just happened but brushes it off.

"Okay we get it, you don't trust us because of him being undercover. I get it." He nods. "How about we start over?"

I don't agree nor object which he takes in his favor. "Okay. I'm Detective Stansfield and this is Detective Samuel."

"Detective Samuel.." I spew. "How old are you?"

"Twenty-four."

"Aren't you too young to be a detective?" I ask

He leans agasint the table and lowers his voice. "I'm quite good at what I do."

A slight smile crosses my face.

The door is flung wide open and in walks a tall blonde, presumably thirty-five year old in a dark blue tight fitting dress below the knees. Her spectacles with bags under her eyes and stress lines makes her appear to be a workaholic. She is either really invested in her work which makes her good so she has many clients or she is bad at what she does and has to work overtime to catch up everything because she is passionate about being a lawyer to save the children. God, I hope it's the first one.

"Detective, you know the rules. You not allowed to question my client who's a minor without legal representation." Her voice firm as she slams her brief case on the table.

Detective Stansfield stands up. "We were just waiting for your arrival."

"Cut the crap James."

He smiles which makes it seem like they know each other.

"If you not charging my client, then we'll be leaving." She says

"It would best if she told us everything she knows so that we won't have to charge her as an accessory." Detective Stansfield informs us.

"What? No." I intervene.

They both stop bickering and turn to face me.

"Brooklyn, don't say anything." She instructs me.

"She better speak up or we'll charge her."

"On what?"

"Possession. When we picked her up she had cocaine and Molly on her."

My lawyer hesitates to say something back, instead she takes a seat next to me and whispers in my hear. "You guilty of anything at all?"

"No. I only had the drugs on me." I promise her.

We both agree on the decision we make and nod out heads.

"She'll speak on one condition."

"And what's that?" Detective Stansfield asks with his arms folded in front of him.

"You drop all charges you have against her."

Detective Stansfield thinks to himself for a brief moment whether it's a good idea or not. It would be stupid not to take it, if they want to catch the real criminal.

Detective Stansfield and Detective Samuel whisper to each other before making eye contact with me.

"Okay deal." He leans forward pressing his hand on the table to hold his body weight. "But you tell us everything you know, starting at the beginning."

They move their chairs closer to the table. "It's a long story." I drag out the word.

Detective Samuel smiles. "Well we have  time."
