Chapter 14: Lothlorien

"Anaire," I groaned as Aragorn shook me, "We need to be moving." He sighed, I mumbled something under my breath as I stood up slowly, stretching my arms in the air as my back popped.

The Fellowship quickly gathered our things together and continued the journey, Aragorn seemed annoyed with the break we had taken and was on edge until we came to a valley filled with flowing green frass.

The rest of the group lagged behind as Aragorn runs across a icy blue stream and runs on top of a rock and smiles at a large forest.

Legolas remains in silence beside me, glancing over every now and then. The group walks up beside Aragorn and eyes widen at the enormous greengold woods before them, sun shines bright over them and leaves flow like oceans.

We jog across an open grassy plain and into a thick forest, I roll my eyes at Gimli as he whispers that elves are twisted folk and the Lady of Lorien is a witch. Galadriel would have to welcome us with open arms, we are not her enemies.

I steadies Frodo as he seems to jerk back in surprise, he looks around quickly and jumps as he nearly walks into a sharp arrow pointed at his head. I quickly grabbed an arrow and glared at the elves in front, Aragorn raises his arms in innocence.

"The dwarf breathes so loud, we could have shot him in the dark." A blonde noble elf walks forward and glares at Gimli, Legolas and I lower our bows.

The group of elves lead them onto a flet high in the trees, night has now fallen over the forest. Legolas and I smile warmly at the elf.

"Mae govannen, Legolas Thranduilion." (Welcome Legolas, son of Thranduil) The elf holds his hand out to Legolas who nods, "Govannas vin gwennen le, Haldir o Lorien." (Our Fellowship stands in your debt, Haldir of Lorien) I replied and turned away, Haldir turned to Aragorn. "A, Aragorn in Dunedain istannen le ammen." (Oh, Aragorn of the Dunedain, you are known to us.) Aragorn nodded and smiled up at the elf.

"Haldir." Aragorn replied, "So much for the legendary courtesy of the Elves! Speak words we can al understand!" Gimli growled, Haldir glared down at him and his face scrunched up.

"We have not have dealings with Dwarves since the Dark Days." Haldir replied coldly, "And you know what this Dwarf says to that? Ishkhaqwi ai durugnul!" Gimli growled, Aragorn spun around and hit him on the chest. "That was not so courteous." Aragorn whispered.

Haldir glances at the group and his gaze stops at Frodo, "You bring great evil with you." Haldir said to Frodo and looked back at Aragorn, "You can go no further." He said quickly.

Aragorn argues in elvish with Haldir quietly and Frodo glances to each of his companions who all seem to be staring at him with annoyance.

"Gandalf's death was not in vain." Boromir woke Frodo from a fog, "You carry a heavy burden, Frodo. Don't carry the weight of the dead." He said quietly. Frodo narrowed his eyes as he pondered on this and his head jerked up as Haldir stood in front of him, "You will follow me." He turned quickly.

The Fellowship follows the elves quickly and night turns to morning and the group halts on an overlook, a large group of enormous trees sit in the center of the overlook and birds fly around it.

"Caras Galadhon.. The heard of Elvendom on earth. Realm of the Lord Celeborn and of Galadriel, Lady of Light." Haldir announced and looked at the area proudly.

The Fellowship was lead down a steep slope that leveled out quickly and they weaved through trees which slowly got larger and larger, I can feel my eyes widen in amazement as the mallorn trees came into view. Enormous trees that stretched up and out of sight into the canopy of leaves above my head, stairs wound around the trunks and onto flets where the elves of Lothlorien were living, my very breath seemed taken away.
