I strolled to the back of the queue filled with many children and their parents. Ugh, I thought, this seemed like a lot of effort,do I have to sign stuff? Maybe I needed my parents? Have they already payed?

My thoughts were interrupted by a young girl standing in front of me with dark skin and medium length wavy braided hair, she was shorter than me and had a very pretty face , chocolate brown eyes which suited her tone perfectly.

She looked at me and said, " hiya".

"Hello, I'm Ashley", I replied.

"Oh hi! I'm Victoria, you new here?"

"Yes,and you?"

her eyes lit up to my response and replied with ,"Yeah I am!".

"Ah cool", i returned looking at her. She was wearing blue jeans with a pinky red top and a denim jacket. She had blue converse and a heart necklace made of purple stone.

" do you know what we actually have to do here? Like be in this queue?"

"Yea,they give us our time table and tell us what team were in".

Phew, I thought.

the queue moved really quickly and before I knew it , we were at the front. The lady at the office front finished with one of the pupils and beckoned Victoria over, she turned around and waved at me before mouthing bye.

I looked around the hall. Apart from all the parents and children, the hall was pretty empty. A few pictures hung of the creamy green wall, the ceiling was white with a cream border. Another lady from who had served Victoria finished with her pupil and called me over. I trotted over and looked at her. she had short blonde hair and big brown eyes.

"Hi there, welcome to camp!"She told me.

"Oh hi, I'm Ashley, Ashley Jackson"

"Ah okay", she replied as she typed my name onto the computer which lay in front of her on the desk.

"Oh okay, your in Torons and in the South Camp",she told me.

"Okay", this seemed extremly confusing.

"Don't worry my dear", she told me as if she was reading my mind," soon there is going to be the welcoming assembly and you will be put in your groups and sent to your camps!"

"I understand now"

"Here is a map, might come in handy", she opened the page of the map and pointed out where the ceremony was to be taken place".

"Thank you very much" I smiled thinking how ridiculous it would be to be seen using a map. I walked away before hearing the lady call for another pupil. I decided to be making my way to the ceremony, when a familier voice talked, "hey". I looked to see who it was, it was Victoria!

"Oh hey! Thank you for waiting!"

"No prob!"

"are you going to the ceremony thingy?"

"Yeap you?"

"Yesh",I replied before looking forward as we exited the main hall.

I was extremely grateful that she waited.

I thought to myself, "2 friends, more to go".
