The rest of the day after the appointment was Adrienne and I just hanging out at the mall. W e talked and we shopped. The doctor told me that he knew the sex of the babies but I told him I wanted to keep it a surprise so I could find out with Billie. I would skype him after his interview and open the envelope together.
"Why don't you do one of those cute baby reveals instead?" Adrienne suggested while we were driving back to my house.
"What did you have in mind?" I asked.
"Well, we send the envelope to Mike and Tre and they set it up so that a bunch of balloons either blue or pink or both, because you know twins, will fall at a certain time during the interview. You'll be watching and he'll obviously be there. They could even get the interviewer in on it and ask some personal questions."
"That sounds amazing. Will you help me set it up?"
"Ofcourse, hun."
We pulled into the driveway and I called Mike. I told him Adrienne's plan and he was totally psyched. So I left the room to go make dinner while Adrienne opened the envelope and told him the sex of the twins. It took all of my resistance not to go in and take a peek.
Adrienne said she would come over tomorrow and watch the interview with me, but she had to get home because even though the boys are all grown up, they still depended on her to put meals on the table. So we said our goodbyes ad I ate dinner alone, watching the recordings of Billie perform on his tour. Then my phone beeped with a text message.
Hey, love. It read. It was from Billie.
Hey, babe. What's up? I answered.
Nothing. Just wanted to see how the appointment went. I'd call, but the guys are using the tablet and my phone is low on battery.
Well the appointment went great. The doctor knows the sex of the babies!
Wow! So what are they?!
Well, I wanted to keep that a secret for the both of us. We'll find out after the interview. I'll skype you and open the envelope on camera.
Okie dokie I guess. Listen about the interview...
What?
The interviewer might ask some personal questions about us, y'know, after that whole song dedicated to the three of you. I was wondering if I should actually tell them or now and if that was ok with you?
Of course it's ok. Answer all the questions they ask and make them detailed. Our love shouldn't be hidden. I don't mind.
Really babe? OK, thanks.
Ok. It's like 10 pm here which makes it 1 am in New York. You should get some sleep.
But I'm a rockstar...can't I stay up a little longer *yawns*
No...you just yawned. It's time for bed. For the both of us.
Ok, babe. I love you. I'll talk to you tomorrow. Miss you.
I love you and miss you too. Goodnight.
Goodnight <3
The Next Day
*Billie's POV*
The interview starts in about 5 minutes. Cam assured me that she'll be watching, even sent me a picture of her set up. Adrienne is there with her and I love the fact that they're getting along so well. I thought they'd fight like the cliche ex and new wife in the movies. I guess not everything is a cliche. Anyways, I'm kinda nervous about this interview. I just know there's going to be a lot of personal questions and I hate talking about my personal life in front of fans. They were bound to catch on at some point. Also, everyone keeps giving me these weird looks, like they know that something's going to happen. Like this is Carrie or something and they're going to dump pig's blood on me because I won prom queen.
"Here's Green Day!" Yelled the interviewer. This was our cue and we raced on stage.
The interview went pretty well, he asked us questions about Rev Rad, the album process, the tour process, and then the subject of family came up. More specifically my family.
"So, Billie. How is the divorced life treating you?" he asked.
"Great actually."
"That's good to hear. Now, are you seeing anyone? That song last night wasn't just for your mom, I can tell you that much." The small audience roared with laughter.
"Ya. No it wasn't. It was for my new wife, Camren." This earned a bunch of 'oohs' from the audience, including Tre.
"Wife, huh? Divorced for 5 months and already remarried. Wow. Congratulations."
"Thank you. We've been dating since December and got married in January. Happily married ever since." I showed my wedding band, and the audience cheered.
"Married so early in the relationship. Was there any particular reason for that?"
"Ya, she got a bun in the oven." Said Tre. The audience laughed.
"Really? She was pregnant?" The interviewer continued.
"She still is, with twins. 4 months pregnant so far."
"Ya? Twins huh? At 4 months you're able to tell the sex of the bay...do you happen to know?"
"Her appointment was yesterday but she said she'll tell me after the interview. It'll be a surprise for her too."
"Well, Billie, you don't have to wait that long." Said Mike, and he pointed upward. I looked up to where he was pointing but my vision was blocked by a bunch of balloons. I looked at the camera and smiled. Then I noticed the colour of the balloons.
Half were blue, half were pink.
I walked up the camera with one balloon of each colour in each hand. I looked at each of them in turn and then spoke.
"It's a boy and a girl. I love you so much."
*Cam's POV*
"I love you so much, too, my little rockstar." I said back to him.
