He walked through the halls of Hogwarts, cold nipping at his exposed skin. A green tie sloppily done on his neck, his robe hanging half off his shoulder, Draco pushed his way through the crowd of people. Bruises still littered his body, a large one on the side of his cheek. People gave him strange looks, but no one asked what had happened.

Classes were boring and difficult, as usual. Although, some select few lessons were particularly interesting. Divination was about music for some strange reason, the reason why was unknown to everyone. Yet, Draco wasn't truly complaining. Sure, to keep up his Malfoy persona, he had to rant about how useless and stupid music was. But deep down, he was very interested and loved music.

"Mr. Malfoy, do you need a minute alone with Mr. Potter? Or, do you wish to continue to stare like a love sick school girl." Professor Snape sneered, a ever so slight smirk forming on his face. His dark long hair obscured his face, but Draco could just hear the smirk.

"Sir, I wasn't staring at Potter. What idiot would do that? Just lost in thought." Draco smirked, causing some of the Slytherins to join. Snape raised an eyebrow, sighing to himself.

"Since I do not want to show favoritism, 10 points from Slytherin and I will see you in detention, Malfoy." Snape added, walking back up to the front of potions class. Draco nearly put his head down in frustration, but he just pouted to keep up his personality.

If he was honest, Draco didn't mind Potter too much. He didn't like the overrated teenager, but being flat out rude just seemed wrong. But the damn Malfoy persona continued to consume him. Crabb and Goyle nudged him with their elbows, chuckling that he was caught somehow staring at Potter.

The class dragged on and on longer than Draco cared to pay attention. All he wanted to do was go to his dorm and grab his guitar keychain. That way he could leave and go to the lake directly after detention.

"Mr. Malfoy, you have a half hour. We will talk during your detention while you help me prepare drafts. Detention will last two hours. I will see you soon, if you're late, more points from Slytherin." Snape told him as the class emptied, causing Draco to sneer and roll his eyes. Goyle and Crabb laughed again, mentally confusing Draco. Why those two goons laughed at everything he did that was rude, he didn't know.

"Yes sir, of course sir." Draco mocked once he was down the hallway. His goons nodded, making him completely convinced they didn't care what he said, they would agree because he's a Malfoy.

"Mr. Malfoy, would you care to explain the bruising on your face? Consequently you are in my house and under my watch so you can see how I must know such things. Because I am good... friends... with Lucius, I know what he can do." Snape began, handing Draco ingredient after ingredient. Draco's shoulder was sore from the weight of all the stuff in his bag, his arms beginning to overflow.

"My father has a way with expressing anger, but no need to be worried professor." Draco told him, really wishing he could leave this conversation.

Snape looked almost pained to continue, his face cringing. "You can come to me with anything... Draco.." He muttered, visibly trying to stop his face from contorting. Sympathy or help was never something Snape was good at, but as a teacher he was required.

"Thank you, but no thank you sir." Draco told him, feeling as though he could let his false personality down. Snape sensed this and mentally smiled to himself, something that he never liked to do. The Malfoy boy was very different from his parents, even though he lived up to his family name well.

"Very well." He added, motioning for Draco to follow him back to the classroom. He did, blinking as many times as he could to remove his bleach blonde hair from his eyes.

A girl sat at the end of the corridor, reading a rather large book. She looked up, her icy blue eyes settling on Draco. He was rather attractive, his hair color and style adding to it. His personality was a little rough, but no one knew the real him. But otherwise, the young man was quite a catch.

Little did he know, the girl he briefly saw from the corner of his eyes, was his Jane Doe. The girl with thick dark hair and piercing blue eyes was his Jane Doe.
