Megan's POV
Well I am all dressed now and I'm ready for my first day, I guess. One day, that's it. I keep repeating it in my head, it's helping me feel better. There's two minutes before I have to go so I walked downstairs to get my shoes on.
Mom: "All set?"
I just rolled my eyes at her, she thinks I should be happy and excited. Well, I'm not.
Me: "One day right? Then I am homeschooled."
Mom: "Yes Megan, but maybe you will want to stay."
Me: "Doubt that mom."
Suddenly there was a knock at the door, I opened it to see Henry's face.
Henry: "Ready to go?"
Me: "Yep."
Mom came over a kissed and hugged both of us.
Mom: "Megan remember come home straight after school okay?"
Me: "Yes mom."
Mom: "Bye have a wonderful day!"
With that Henry and I started to walk to school. I was one grade above Henry and my teachers name was Mrs.Hanfer. Henry said that he heard she is a nice teacher so let's hope he is right. We got to the front of the school five minutes later and my nerves started to kick in.
Henry: "I have to go now I promised my friend I would meet him before the bell to help with his homework! Have a good day Megan!"
Great now I'm alone. My heart started to race, I don't want to do this. I turned around about to run to Granny's to get away when I slammed into someone. I fell and hit the ground hard and I looked up to see I had also knocked down a girl about my age, what a way to start the day. I got up and held out my hand to her.
Me: "I'm so sorry I didn't see you there!"
She grabbed my hand and smiled at me.
Girl: "No it's okay it was actually kind of funny. I'm Addie what's your name?"
Me: "I'm Megan."
Addie: "What class are you in?"
Me: "Mrs.Hanfer but.."
She cut me off by jumping up and down.
Addie: "Me too! That's so funny!"
Great now I have to go to class.
Addie: "Wanna walk to class together?"
Me: "Sure."
I was kind of thankful I had a friend now and she was in my class because I had no clue how to get anywhere in this school. Maybe Addie will turn out to be my best friend?
