My name is Mark. Mark Fischbach and I'm a Junior attending Young Greens High School. I don't mean to brag but I am fairly popular, not to mention pretty good looking. I'm pretty outgoing so most of the teachers like me, and I'm a very friendly person so I'll talk to anybody. The nerds, the quiet kids, the nice kids, the cool kids, the mean kids, the jocks, the weird kids....you get the picture, I talk to everybody so they all think I'm pretty cool. I don't really have any problems with anybody and nobody has any problems with me and I'd like to keep it that way. However, I really don't care about that kind of stuff. I'd rather just concentrate on my friends, family, football, band and school instead of my popularity. I'm lucky that I really don't need to try hard in school, considering I'm pretty smart. I'm in all the AP classes, except for English. I kinda suck at that class but I still have a B in it. I have all A's in everything else though, so I guess I could consider myself pretty smart.

I'm really lucky to have such a good life; doing well in school, living in a nice home with a great mother and fantastic friends. I couldn't help but lay in bed and just be thankful for all of this until my alarm snapped me out of my train if thought. It was six thirty a.m. And I just remembered that I had my first day of school after winter break in about half an hour. Great. I had circumstantially stayed up all night just thinking about life. One thing that had been on my mind all night long was love. This was thanks to my best friend Ethan. He was always pestering me about why I've never had a girlfriend before, especially considering almost every girl in the whole school, including some teachers, liked me. I could have pretty much anyone that I wanted. I just brushed it off at first, saying I just haven't found a girl yet that I liked. But the more I thought about it the more worried I became. Was there something wrong with me? I mean all my close friends have already been in at least one serious relationship and here I am, having never dated anybody. "Whatever." I said aloud. I was only seventeen, I still had years and years ahead of me that I could find a nice girl I liked.

I rolled over and looked at my alarm clock. 6:45 it read. "Crap." I ended up lying in bed a whole fifteen minutes longer than I was supposed to. I jumped out of bed and pulled out my lucky red flannel, followed by a simple pair of black jeans and threw them on before rushing downstairs to my bathroom. I splashed my face with cold water and ran a comb threw my hair. I washed my hands and carefully put in my contacts. I ran out of the bathroom and looked at the clock. 6:54. Shit. I had six minutes to get to school. Looks like I was skipping breakfast. I grabbed my black coat and threw it on before kissing my sleeping mother goodbye and rushing out the door to find an angry Ethan waiting outside for me.

"Hey, sorry I kept you waiting." I chuckled seeing him scowl at me. We started our walk to school when I looked up at the gray sky that was producing the soft, frozen flakes that were now clinging to my eyelashes. I blinked them off and chuckled to myself. "What're you laughing about?" Ethan asked through chattering teeth. "Nothing," I said. "The snow is just really pretty." "Yeah, it is," he agreed. "Which is why I don't understand why we aren't having a snow day right now!" The now extremely frustrated Ethan said, shoving his hands further into his pockets. I laughed at this. Ethan really doesn't like school. I mean he doesn't hate it, he'd just rather be anywhere other than school. "I mean seriously!" he carried on, "If it keeps snowing like this, we will probably have a foot of snow in less that two hours!" I continued laughing at him. "Maybe they will release us early." "They better." He said before mumbling some more incoherent nonsense.

I suddenly remembered something, and reaching up to grab Ethan's hat I yanked it off his head earning a punch in the shoulder from him. "Hey what was that for? It's cold give me my hat back!"He exclaimed, reaching for his yellow beanie. I was slightly taller than him so I raised it above my head out of his reach. I looked at his freshly dyed hair chuckling. He had told me he was going to dye it blue over winter break and this was my first time actually seeing it in person. "You look like a blueberry." I laughed letting him have his hat back. "A sexy blueberry thank you very much." He said, his voice cracking. I laughed some more at this. "You're gonna be like the only guy at school with his hair dyed a bright color like that." I told him. "Well, I like to be different, okay." He said, smiling. "And that's actually not true! There's that quiet kid, Jack I think, that always sits in the back with the bright green hair. You know, the transfer from Scotland." "Ireland." I corrected him. Ethan scoffed, "Same thing!" I rolled my eyes, laughing.
