Once I had gotten home, I immediately crashed onto my bed and got on my phone. I wanted to text Jack even though I knew he was busy and probably wouldn't answer, but I decided to anyways.

Hey this is Mark. I just wanted to let u know you can text me whenever u are ready to hang out and if u need a ride or anything like thta ;)

That should be good enough right? I decided it would be and clicked send. Ah crap it had a typo at the end! I was going to look so stupid now! Well, I hoped he wouldn't mind. I pulled up another message and this time made it with my closest friends Ethan, Bob, Wade, Felix and Tyler. I decided to name the group chat CRAZY BOYS

To: CRAZY BOYS

Hey do you guys wanna come hang out later today with me and Jack?

Ethan: Jack as in green haired Scotland transfer Jack?

Mark: Ireland. And yes that Jack.

Wade: Since when are you friends with him?

Mark: Since today. He's a really cool guy I think you guys will like him.

Felix: I talked to him a little bit before winter break and we actually became pretty good friends. Hold on I'll ask.

Bob: Sorry man, can't I'm grounded

Tyler: I can't either

Mark: Do you still have the flu?

Tyler: Yeah, sorry man:(

Wade: My mom said I have chores to do so i can't, sorry

Ethan: Apparently I need to spend more time with my family, sorry bro

Mark: Its alright guys, come on Felix you're my only hope

Felix: ...

Felix: hey so my mom said I could go but you know I live super far away from you and our roads are iced over. Sorry bout that man, tell Jack I said hi tho!!

Mark: it's alright guys thanks for trying.

Felix: hey it's not all bad, you still get to hang out with Jack and I have a feeling you'll like him ;)

Mark: Okay, well whatever that means XD thanks guys

I checked my message to Jack, which still hasn't been read. Well he is busy, I just need to be patient. I made sure to turn my ringer up all the way before I chucked my phone across my bed and crawled up under my warm blankets. It was 9:30 now, so I had about three and a half more hours until 1:00. Great. Since I had so much time to spare, I decided to catch up on the sleep that never came last night.

I awoke to hear my mom calling me from downstairs. "Coming mom!" I yelled down to her. I checked the time, and it was 12:30. Good, hopefully it wouldn't be long now. I didn't expect to be this excited about hanging out with Jack but I was and I wasn't sure why. I swung my legs out of bed; my feet hitting the icy floor, I instantly retracted them back into the warmth of my blankets. I then swung them right back out and endured the harsh wrath of the cold wooden floor, until I found some nice thick socks to put on. I sighed, they felt like heaven on earth. I proceeded to run downstairs, finding my mother cooking some scrambled eggs.
