I awoke to the sound of banging on my door.
"Faith!" Cried my brother, Ron."Mum wants us down for breakfast!"
I sighed, rolling out of bed. Ron wasn't my actual brother. None of the children that called the Burrow home were. They were my cousins, but I had lived with them since birth due to the fact that both of my real patents were dead. Molly and Arthur weren't my actual parents, obviously, but I still called them Mum and Dad since they were the closest thing I had to parents and treated me like their own. (A/N I know this is confusing but I need you to understand this for the plot of the story to work.)As I lay in bed, blinking sleep from my eyes, my owl, Alena, let out a screech, startling me, causing me to fall from my bed and to the floor.
"Bloody bird." I groaned, heaving myself off the floor. If I wasn't awake before, I was now.
As I walked to the door, still cursing under my breath, I heard an explosion, followed by a scream.
Rushing through my door and down the stairs. I arrived in the kitchen to see my mother, standing there, face and apron coveted in soot, holding an exploding matchbox, one of my own inventions. I covered my mouth, stifling a laugh, my eyes wide in amusement.
"Frederick Gideon and George Fabian Weasley!!!! Get down here right this instant!!" Mum screeched, resembling my owls own one.
It became increasingly hard to keep myself from busting out laughing, having to resort to shoving my whole fist into my mouth.
The twins came running down the stairs, still dressed in their pyjamas, obviously having just gotten up.
"Yes Mum?" They asked together, glancing from me to the matchbox."Look at what I found! Just sitting on the table! I told you, you are not to be making anymore of these ridiculous pranks!!! Now, which one of you was foolish enough to leave it lying around? Hmmm?" Mother asked, staring the twins down.
Before they could reply, however, I stepped in.
"This isn't one of their inventions, Mother, its my own. If you don't believe me you can go into my room and find hundreds of them." I said, standing in front of the twins, who, despite their ego, cowered behind me, as if hiding from a beast.Mum looked at a loss for words, mouthing wordlessly like a fish.
"I expected more from you, Faith. I would have expected this from the twins but never from you. You are a Prefect, and therefore should be setting an example! You can go de-gnome the garden once you've had your breakfast, understood?" She askedI stared at the ground, hands held behind my back in a sheepish manner. "Yes mum," I replied, quickly looking up.
"Good. Now go get dressed and not another word about it! Nearly gave me a heart attack, you did!"
I turned and slowly trudged up the stairs, dreading de-gnoming the garden.
As I reached my room, I saw an owl sitting on my window sill, a letter clutched in its beak. I approached the unfamiliar bird, slowly sticking my hand out for the letter. As I grabbed it, I noticed the owls eyes and how unusually coloured they were, being bright green, like my own.
I sat on my bed, letter in hand, as I watched the peculiar owl fly of into the blue, cloudless sky, becoming but a speck.
I tore the letter open, not recognizing the writing.
Dear Miss. Weasley,
I hope you have had a restful summer as while the end of August quickly approaches, so do I. You may not know me but I certainly know you. I am the one who brought along your father's premature death. But tell anyone about this letter, and your family dies. Starting with the youngest, Ginerva. You have been warned. Do not make me follow my promise.
Enjoy the rest of your summer. The letter dropped from my hands, fear clutching my body. Who is watching me?
Yeah I know, its a bit of a filler but this just so I can get the story rolling!!
Should I keep writing??? Please leave comments because this is the first fan fiction I've written so feedback would be appreciated! Don't forget to vote either, it'd mean a lot to me!Love you all!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
