Part 6

Bailey's POV:

My first day in campus and I was feeling so happy. I didn't know if the reason was the passing of a whole day without getting into any trouble or bullying or was it because first time in my whole life some guy had paid any attention to me.

Yes! It probably was the second one. I had just reached my dorm and I'd been dropped off by Zach.

It was pretty obvious that when he stopped the car by the entrance, all the female eyes were glued on him, I waved at him and he winked back. I laughed and ran in.

Actually it had started when I sat by his side in our first class. We hardly talked. Later when I was sitting in a corner of the parking lot with my book he came up to me and started talking as if we had known each other for so long.

I found that weird but cute at the same time. Never in my life had I had the chance to speak to any of the popular guys in class. The ones who talked to me sometimes were mostly nerds like me, trying to get assignments and stuff.

It was straight up obvious that Zach was that type of guys who had girls drooling. With a sharp featured face, green eyes, athletic build and that outgoing behaviour, he was definitely the players type.

Somewhere in my mind I made a note to keep safe distance from him and yet, here I was being driven home by him and thinking about him so much.

He had come up to me in the parking lot and was being so friendly I couldn't just have pushed him away. We talked about studies, our backgrounds, our goals and after a while when I started to leave, he offered to drive me.

I was singing to myself and looking for some books when my phone rang. I knew it was mom so I picked up without looking at it.

"Hey mom, you're home so early? I wasn't expecting a call until evening. Anyway my day was amazing.."

"Not your mom here." I heard a deep chuckle. For a moment I couldn't think of anybody who would have called me, but then it hit me.

"Zach? You actually called? We just exchanged numbers like an hour ago. What do you want?"

"I don't want anything. I just called up to say that you left a book of yours in my car and that talking to you was fun and I look forward to hanging out with you more."

"Oh."

"Yeah, so.. When do you want your book? Shall I come over and give it now or tomorrow is okay?"

"Um..you don't have to drive back, tomorrow will be good."

"Sure, I'll see you tomorrow. By the way it's probably the first time some girl said no when I asked to come over." He laughed.

I couldn't stop myself from giggling like a moron.

"Bye Zach."

"Bye."

He hung up. I sighed and a wide smile spread on my face. Once again I reminded myself to keep a safe distance from him.
