I had heard her story time and time again. How she had lived with her boyfriend who she had for 3 years. How she loved him and she would always go out drinking with her friends and come home to him staring at her with disappointed eyes and how his stare would make her feel like the worst person in the world. How one day he decided to break up with her and she supposedly spent the next two days in tears and the man was never seen again and presumed to be dead. How she went out drinking the third day after the break up and got into a car accident. How she didn't know where to turn so she decided she would come to AA. I knew the story very well and the part with her boyfriend going missing always got my mind working.

So much that one time I went home and began researching about her. Her name was Bethany Burns and her boyfriend was Thomas Ribben. He went missing on 11/22/15, the day after his break up. The last known whereabouts of him was on video in the Winco on Brown St. he was seen talking on the phone and getting presumably angry and whoever he was talking to then he took the phone from his ear and rushed to checkout and left. After he left the Winco no one knows exactly where he went or why he left. All they know is he was talking to Bethany. She claimed that they were talking about the breakup and they both got angry and then she hung up in tears again and she had no idea why he left the store in such a hurry.

Something about the fact that he got off the phone and left the store didn't seem right and I figured with all the spare time I had I might as well do some investigating. I figured I could attempt to get some more information out of Bethany by taking her out to lunch. She had stared at me for an hour a day, 1 time a week so she must have some interest in me. Maybe it was my brown eyes or maybe it was my hair but she obviously found me good looking or else she wouldn't be so vexed by me.
