Chapter 4

POV: Darcy

After our great entrance we decided to go to the receptionist to enrol Cara and Clara.

"Hello my dears, how may I help you?" The elderly woman asks.

"Hey Mavis!" I smile, the receptionist is the same woman who enrolled Mason and I.

"We are here to enrol Cara and Clara Moonlet." Mason nods at Mavis, who's eyes widen at the names of the twins.

"So it's going to happen soon." she says with a look of awe on her face. "Never did I think I would be alive when this happened."

Mavis is one if the only people alive that know of our existence as the Lightwood hunters. Her ancestor helped us escape from the pack that enslaved us many years ago.

"So what do I put down, these two are your sisters, cousins or adoptive siblings. which lie are you going to pick?" Mavis says this with a talent show hosts voice.

" We're going to go with cousins."

"Okay that's all I need, here are your schedules, locker combo and your text books. Welcome to Lightwood High!" she says this while handing over a loaded bag and smiling.

"Let's go!" we leave the room with Mason wobbling a bit on her shoes as she walks. As we charge into the crowed hallway I hear the fake laughs of Fiona Appleby and Amber Morte.

"Bitches." Mase hisses as they fling there as around our mates.

"I know I want to rip their fucking throats out." I growl. I nod at Mason and we let off our scents. Almost immediately River and Hunter look up and stare at us. Amber and Fiona sent us death glares and try and divert our mates attention from us.

We smile at the boys batting our eyelashes and wiggling our hands.

I am pulled back into reality by Clara tugging on my arm.

"Ahem! Our lockers?" She asks, clearly annoyed.

I shoot her a glare but still elbow Mason and pull her down the hall and towards the twins lockers.

"Locker 69 and 70." I say as I point to the lockers next to ours. "Mase is in 68 and I'm 67."

"What's this?" Cara asks as she opens locker 69 and pulls out a photo.

I examine the photo. It is off me and Mason and our last 2 apprentices, Magnus and Mandy.

"Shit" Mase says as she rips the photo out of Cara's hands.

"Who were the 2 other girls?" Clara asks.

"No one." I am quick to reply. We took in Magnus and Mandy after we killed their rogue parents. We raised them from pups and hoped they would grow to be as powerful and strong as us. But they died in their first fight.

Clara raises her eyebrow but says no more as she starts to put her books into her locker.

'That was close.' I speak through mind link.

'I know.'Mason replies as we take our books out of our lockers. A sorrowful expression shows on faces.

"Ahem." A cough is heard behind us. a sniff to the air informs us that it is in fact our mates. I give Mase a devious smile.

"Clara and Cara, I think you can find your way to maths, if we don't get to class then we will meet you at lunch." Clara and Cara reluctantly make their way to their maths class.

'Read their minds!' Mason mind links me.

'Mmm great idea!' I close my eyes and concentrate.

'What is happening, these two have gone to our school for 4 years and we didn't notice that their our mates? How does this happen River?'

'You tell me! we as alpha's should not be making this mistake!"

Mmmm so they're getting mad that they only just discovered we are their mates? This may be fun.

'What are they saying?' I'm brought out of my devious plan making to the eager mind link voice of Mason.

'Tell you later.' At this comment Mason stamps her foot and huffs.

"Umm hi! I'm River and this is Hunter." a deep voice is heard behind us we slowly turn round.

"We know who you are and what you are." Mason says this with a small smile.

"And as your mates our first request is that you keep Fiona and Amber away from you. The further away they are from you the closer we are to you. Okay? Also no matter what don't lie to us, question our actions and don't underestimate us!" I say this using my hypnotist voice forcing them to listen.

"Well I guess that's all, see you later!" I make my exit with Mason in tow.

"Can we at least get your names?"

"Not until you earn it!" Mason turns round with a cute smile on her face showing her now wolf fangs and dark ears making River and Hunter's jaws hit the ground.

As we enter maths class we see Fiona and Amber sitting in our seats with smug smiles. I don't even bother holding Mason back as she walks over and grabs each of them in each hand by the hair on their heads. They yelp in pain as she picks them up and throws them at the black board. They fall to the ground unconscious. this is when I walk up to the front if the class and all look to me as I inform them that they flung themselves at the blackboard and are fine, then I turn to the teacher and inform him the test is next week not today.

As we take our seats we turn our heads to see a bewildered Clara and Cara.

I simply smile at them and turn my head to the front.

They'll learn to get used this.
