Chapter Three
It was Friday already and the party was at seven. As the minutes trickled by, Emma sat impatiently in her third period Spanish class waiting for the bell to ring. Seignior Franklin was giving a lesson on verb tenses and how to conjugate them. Emma had already taken the liberty of studying the verbs and learning the conjugations. The bell rang and Emma rushed off to history, her last class of the day. After what seemed like forever, the final bell rang and Emma went to her locker, where she found Madeline waiting with Seth and Amy. The halls were filled with students shuffling around, getting ready to go home before the party.
"Hey! You ready?" Amy shouted looking at Emma sounding over excited; there hadn't been a party in a while. Nobody noticed the shouting, practically half the school was yelling getting ready for the party, even some of the grade nines were coming, which was unusual.
"Uhm, yeah I'm so excited!" Emma said Maddy looked at Amy as if she was crazy. Emma saw the look and nudged her slightly, putting on a 'be nice' face with a smile. Seth leaned over and kissed Emma, smiling a little.
"Hey." Emma said Maddy and Amy walked off, laughing a little.
"Hey yourself... so what are we doing tonight?" He said sarcastically.
"Uh, I think you know what we're doing!" Emma said, pulling out a box of condoms.
"Hey! Hey Missy! Put those away!" A teacher yelled from down the hall, "This is a respectful building! Show some respect!" Emma laughed and grabbed Seth's hand. They left the building and waited out in front of the school for Amy and Madeline to get out. It took them a good ten minutes.
"Hey slow pokes! What took you so long?" Emma asked looking at Madeline suspiciously. Maddy frowned and laughed at the same time, it was very peculiar.
"Uh, funny story really. You see we were running down the hall and Mr. Frank caught us, and well it's Mr. Frank so..." Maddy trailed off, expecting them to pick up on the rest. Mr. Frank was the strictest teacher in the whole school. Emma thought it was because he had lost his high school sweet heart that he had been in love with, and he blamed it on everyone around him, shutting everyone out. He wasn't married or anything which was a little strange. They all laughed as they started towards Emma's house.
The four of them hurried to the house before people started arriving; they had a lot of time but they still had to set up a little, putting up some speakers in the back yard. Emma walked into the house and went straight to the kitchen. There was a note on the fridge from her parents. It read "Bye guys don't break anything and be careful! There's money in the safe and the master bedroom is completely off limits (COMPLETELY)! Love you; we will be back late Sunday night."
They spent the next few hours preparing food and drinks; they set up the stereo equipment just before the DJ got there. Emma went upstairs and locked the door to the master bedroom, just in case anyone got any ideas. The first two people to arrive were Melany and Caroline.
"Hey! I'm so glad you could make it!" Emma said in an excited tone, Seth walked over, hugging her from behind.
"Hey Caroline, you made it!" He said looking at Emma.
"Hey guys! I wouldn't miss this for the world!" She said looking passed them into the house. "Well are you going to invite us in?" They laughed.
The house quickly filled up and soon Emma and Maddy were playing host, handing out drinks to people and what not. Everyone started heading outside to dance as the DJ turned on some music. Emma spotted Alexis and James and waved at them and smiled as they passed by the crowd in the distance.
Emma looked through the crowd to find Seth, and spotted him standing with Amy who was bugging him about something. Seth had a very serious face on, he had a silent argument with himself and then made up his mind handing her something, still with the same serious face on.
